Fred Randle, director of emergency management of LeFlore County,said 16 bodies have been recovered from the crash site in centralMississippi.


"A U.S. Marine Corps KC-130 mishap occurred in the evening ofJuly 10," the Marine Corps tweeted.


The incident took place at around 4 p.m. local time (2100 GMT)when the plane crashed into a soybean field in the delta region ofthe southern state of Mississippi, said local police who announcedearlier that at least five of the nine people onboard werekilled.


Greenwood Fire Chief Marcus Banks said debris from the plane wasscattered in a radius of about 8 km and images from the site showedplumes of dark smoke coming from the burning wreckage.


The Marine Corps is yet to reveal the cause of the crash, butsome news outlets said the plane, which took off from Memphis andwas carrying ammunition, exploded in mid-air.

BUCHAREST, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta said on Monday that the European countries must find solution to eliminating the causes of the migrant crisis, not only its effects.

Presidential European policy advisor Leonard Orban, a former European Commissioner, said early last week that Romania is to receive over 1,700 refugees starting in November, at the request of the European Union.


According to him, these refugees will gradually be admitted in six centers in Romania for a two-year period.
