EDMONTON - The Vancouver Canucks have made the most of their games against the Edmonton Oilers this season. Troy Niklas Jersey .Radim Vrbata scored a pair of goals and Daniel Sedin had three assists as the Canucks continued their domination of Edmonton this season, defeating the Oilers 5-4 on Wednesday.Jannik Hansen, Chris Higgins and Yannick Weber also scored for the Canucks (13-6-0), who have won all four of their games against Edmonton this season and three of their last four games overall. It was back and fourth, we got an early lead and I dont think we should have given it up, Weber said. They got a couple of quick goals, we made a couple of bad mistakes and they were right back into the game. We played to their strengths, thats what they want, they like high-scoring games.I think for us, after the second, we just knew we had to stick to our plan, we knew we could out-play them and at the end, I think we deserved the win.Vancouver head coach Willie Desjardins said there has been no magic recipe this season against Edmonton.Every time we played them we could have lost every game, he said. Thats how tight the league is and were happy with the win.Canucks goalie Ryan Miller also continued his personal ownership of the Oilers, improving to 11-0 lifetime against Edmonton, now the longest active win streak in the NHL.That said, Miller admits he hasnt been having one of his better stretches in net overall of late. The last four games for me I havent been nearly sharp enough, I have to dial that in and get better, he said. When you go through stretches like this I have to keep in mind, I have to battle, I have to compete and be better for the boys. They scored plenty of goals, it didnt need to come down to the last second.Steven Pinizzotto, Teddy Purcell, Boyd Gordon and Andrew Ference responded for the Oilers (6-11-2), who have lost four in a row and have yet to win a game this season against a fellow Western Conference team, dropping to 0-9-1 in that category. We didnt play well enough to win, Gordon said. Thats kind of been the story of the last few games. Weve been inconsistent and we havent been able to find a way to push the game the other way. Until we do that, we are going to have a tough time winning games.Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins said that his top players were not at the top of their games as his team lost their fourth straight one-goal game. The guys who have to be critical for us right through our lineup, the forwards and some of our D, they werent there, he said. They showed sparks of coming, but for whatever reason the couldnt get it done. The guys we rely on less played well. Your key guys have to be your drivers every night, and it wasnt just two or three. We had a number of guys struggle through different portions of the game. Its disappointing. You want the points. We have to find a way to be on the other side of the one-goal games.Oilers goalie Ben Scrivens wasnt about to break down the five goals that got past him on the night.Ill let my goalie coach determine whats a bad goal or a good goal, if you dont mind, he said. I battled. I thought I made some saves to keep them in it.The Canucks went up 1-0 with four minutes to play in the first period, thanks to a short-handed goal. Shawn Matthias picked off a Ryan Nugent-Hopkins pass at the Edmonton blue-line and sent Hansen in on a breakaway, where he was able to beat Scrivens glove-side.It looked like the Canucks added another goal by Daniel Sedin just over a minute later, but the Oilers caught a huge break as it was ruled Alexandre Burrows had interfered with Scrivens in a bit of a questionable call as it appeared the Edmonton goalie embellished the contact.Vancouver had 10 first period shots to just four from Edmonton on Miller. The Canucks took a two-goal lead two minutes into the second period on the power play as a face-off win came right back to Vrbata in the slot and he beat Scrivens with a rocket of a shot for his seventh of the season.Edmonton got that goal back three minutes later as a Pinizzotto wrist shot seemed to freeze Miller, who barely reacted before the puck was in the net. It was Pinizzottos first career NHL goal, coming in his first game of the season for the Oilers.Vancouver made it 3-1 as a bad pass by Oilers defender Keith Aulie was picked off just outside the Edmonton zone, allowing Higgins to wire a long shot past Scrivens. The Oilers, however, came flying back with a pair of quick goals to knot the game 3-3.Edmonton struck on a power play with eight-and-a-half minutes left in the second period as the faceoff came back to Purcell at the point and he blasted it into the net.Just 11 seconds later, Gordon battled for a puck deep in the Vancouver zone and banked a shot off of Millers skate and in. Pinizzotto, who had a first period fight, picked up an assist on the play for the Gordie Howe hat trick. It is kind of rare to have something like that happen, Pinizzotto said. It was good for myself, but at the end of the day it is about the team, and we couldnt come out with a win today, which is disappointing. It was a good confidence builder for me personally, though.Vancouver surged back ahead with three minutes left in the second as Vrbata scored his second of the game, picking the top corner from the top of the circle on the power play.Edmonton made it 4-4 six minutes into the third frame as Ference scored his first of the season on a long shot through traffic. The Canucks once again took the lead with eight-and-a-half minutes left as Daniel Sedin made a perfect pass to a hard-charging Weber, who directed the shot off of Scrivens and in for his first of the year to make it 5-4.The Oilers looked like they may have tied it once more with 10 seconds left, but the goal was immediately waved off as it was ruled David Perron had kicked the puck off Millers blocker and into the net.It was kicked and the rule says if it doesnt hit another player and it only hits me, its no goal, Miller said. Thats what the rule is there for, you cant pick up your skate blade in the crease and make a kicking motion, so I think its the right call. If it had deflected off his skate or hits him, I could live with it, but I saw him kick it and it didnt touch anybody else, so I feel like it was the right call. The Canucks return home for three games, beginning on Thursday against the Anaheim Ducks. Edmonton plays the fourth game of a five-game homestand on Friday against the New Jersey Devils.Notes: The two teams have been awfully familiar with each other in the early running of the season. It was the fourth regular season meeting between the Oilers and Canucks, sixth if the pre-season is included. Vancouver swept the first three regular season meetings. The two teams wont meet again until April 11 in the final game of the regular season for both clubs… Canucks forward Zack Kassian returned to the lineup. Linden Vey came out to make room… Vancouver defenceman Luca Sbisa has also been cleared to return, but remained on the sidelines in favour of Yannick Weber… The Oilers made one lineup change, calling up Pinizzotto to replace healthy scratch Jesse Joensuu on a line with Matt Hendricks and Boyd Gordon… For the first time since 2005/2006 the Oilers are averaging more shots for per game (30.1) than shots against (29.9)… Henrik and Daniel Sedin came into the game with a combined 150 points in 159 games against the Oilers and combined for five more on the night. Shaq Mason Jersey . The Kings paraded the Stanley Cup through downtown Los Angeles on Monday to celebrate their second NHL title in three seasons. James Harrison Jersey . "This isnt really the week you want to lose Chris Greaves," fellow lineman Glenn January said Wednesday after practice. Greaves is expected to miss several weeks after suffering a knee injury in last weeks 36-28 win over the Ottawa Redblacks. http://www.patriotsauthenticshop.com/Patriots-Devin-Mccourty-Draft-Jersey/ . Ozuna hit Reeds 2-2 pitch off the batters eye far above the 407-foot sign in straightaway centre. It was the fifth blown save in 25 tries for Reed (1-5) and the ninth home run the closer has allowed in 38 appearances. Nuno, acquired in the deal that sent Brandon McCarthy to the New York Yankees, gave up three hits, struck out a career-high seven and walked one in seven innings. CHICAGO -- No 11-round shootout this time. Just a series of big stops for Kari Lehtonen. Lehtonen had a season-high 47 saves, Antoine Roussel converted a penalty shot in the third period and the Dallas Stars snapped the Chicago Blackhawks six-game winning streak with a 4-3 victory on Tuesday night "Its fun if it goes well, but if things dont go well it can get kind of ugly," Lehtonen said. "I had no problem getting all those shots today. I was feeling good." It sure looked that way. Valeri Nichushkin had a goal and an assist for the Stars, who had dropped four of five, including consecutive shootout losses at home in their previous two games. Alex Chiasson and Erik Cole also scored. Patrick Sharp scored his 200th goal with Chicago in the Blackhawks first home game since a 5-1 victory over San Jose on Nov. 17. Patrick Kane had two assists, giving him 21 points in his last 15 games. The defending Stanley Cup champions hit the road while the circus took over the United Center and responded with an impressive 6-1-0 trip, including an epic tiebreaker during a 2-1 win in Dallas on Friday night that matched the record for longest shootout for each franchise. "Its nice to be home from that long road trip, but sometimes theres a letdown, and you cant let that happen," defenceman Duncan Keith said. "We were guilty of that tonight." Second-period goals by Nick Leddy and Johnny Oduya helped the Blackhawks erase a 3-0 deficit, but they went 1 for 5 on the power play in their second regulation home loss of the season. The Stars appeared to be headed for disappointment before Roussel skated in on Corey Crawford and was awarded a penalty shot after Niklas Hjalmarsson hacked away at him with his stick. Roussel then beat Crawford with a backhander into the upper right corner at 3:01, and Lehtonen stepped up with a series of solid saves to help the Stars hold on for their seventh victory in their last eight road games. "I felt like we played defence the whole game," Roussel said. "We didnt have much energy. Our goaltender played unbelievable and kept us in thhe game. Malcolm Mitchell Jersey. " Dallas was once again without forward Tyler Seguin, who missed his second straight game with concussion-like symptoms. He leads the team with 12 goals. The Stars jumped on an ill-timed line change by the Blackhawks to grab a 1-0 lead at 13:47 of the first. Nichushkin got a pass from Cody Eakin and sent a low wrister past Crawford for his third goal of the season. Chiasson then tipped home a long slap shot by Alex Goligoski for a power-play score with 1:10 to go in the period, and Nichushkin found Cole in front of the goal to make it 3-0 early in the second. "Very generous on the first three goals against us," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. "We had one of those starts where we were trying to get ourselves into the game mentally. I dont think we were sharp on the plays and the goals against." That sure changed in a hurry. Sharps long slap shot got by Lehtonen at 9:39 for his third goal in four games, prompting the Blackhawks to turn up the pressure. Leddy converted a one-timer and Oduyas slap shot from the boards went off Chiassons stick on the way to the net for his third goal. The goals by the defencemen just 65 seconds apart tied it at 3 with 2:46 left in the period and led to a standing ovation from the crowd. The Blackhawks continued to generate quality opportunities in the third, but Lehtonen was there each time. He had a solid stop on Brandon Saad before Roussels penalty shot, and then made a great save on Sharp to keep the Stars in front midway through the period. "In the third they were coming hard and we were playing smart," Lehtonen said. "There were a couple of breakdowns, but nothing crazy. It wasnt a pretty win, but well take it." NOTES: Crawford had 14 stops. .. Stars C Ryan Garbutt was helped from the ice after he took a slap shot to his right leg in the first period, but returned to the game. ... Blackhawks D Michal Rozsival played in his 800th NHL game. ... Blackhawks C Michal Handzus was scratched due to an illness. ...
