The mother of the man who was shot dead by local police at a railway station in Qing'an vans old skool bordeaux , Heilongjiang Province, has refused to accept 200,000 yuan ($32,197) in compensation offered by local authorities, the Global Times learned Monday.


Xu Chunhe, 54, was shot while passing through the security checkpoint at the Qing'an railway station on May 2. He allegedly stopped other passengers from entering, then grabbed and threw his young child at the police while trying to snatch a gun before he was shot and killed by an armed officer, China News Service reported.


His mother Quan Yuxun, who witnessed the entire event, said she refused to accept the authorities' offer of compensation. She also authorized lawyers to deal with the case on her behalf Monday morning.


Xie Yanyi, a lawyer representing Quan, told the Global Times Monday that the compensation was offered by the Harbin public security bureau. ""The local government has also helped with coordination as they want to close the case as soon as possible,"" he said.


""Quan told us that this is not about the amount of the money. It is rather about criminal responsibility. The incident must be investigated. She wants justice, and for the government to reveal the truth,"" Xie said.

One person was killed and two others injured in a gunfire exchange at the gate of NSA headquarters at Fort Meade in the state of Maryland at around 9:30 EDT (1330 GMT) Monday.


The incident happened after a NSA guard reportedly got into quarrel with two men disguised as women who were trying to enter the NSA complex.


The guard reportedly shot at the two men as the vehicle tried to ram the NSA gate. According to the U.S. TV network NBC News, a gun and drugs were later found in the vehicle.


One of the two alleged intruders was found dead on the scene.


According to helicopter footage from NBC, emergency crew could be seen caring for an injured uniformed man who was being loaded into an ambulance.


Earlier this month, one of the NSA headquarters buildings at Fort Meade was also hit by gunfire. A former state correctional officer was later arrested for a string of Maryland shootings, including the one at Fort Meade.


Fort Meade, a U.S. Army installation, accommodates about 11,000 military personnel together with about 29,000 civilian employees.
