  • Titans quarterback Datum30.05.2019 09:41
Thema von laiyongcai92 im Forum Restaurants

Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota is heading into a pivotal year.Nerve issues in his elbow kept him off the field for stretches last season and he’s entering the fifth and final year of his rookie deal without any assurances that he’ll be back in Tennessee in 2020. During an interview with Rob DeMello of KHON in Hawaii Eddie George Jersey , Mariota said that he feels close to 100 percent physically and that he isn’t stressing the contract uncertainty as the offseason unfolds.“My mentality as a competitor never changes. I’m going to do my best to be at my best when the season comes and do my best to win games. All that other stuff will take care of itself,“聽Mariota said. “Obviously I love Nashville, I love Tennessee. It’s a great organization to play for. With that being said, they got, it’s a business and you can’t take any of that stuff personal. You just got to go out there and do your thing. No matter what, my number one goal is to get healthy and from there just become a better football player and do my best to be my best when the season聽comes so we can win games.”Since trading for Ryan Tannehill, Titans General Manager Jon Robinson and head coach Mike Vrabel have both said that he’s coming in to be the No. 2 behind Mariota. Robinson also said that Tannehill is in Tennessee to push and compete with Mariota and any more injury issues — Mariota has not played all 16 games in any of his four seasons — might force the Titans to consider other quarterback options in the future. Tennessee finishes at 9-7."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Tennessee Titans PodcastTitans come up short against the Colts, 33-17New,378commentsTennessee finishes at 9-7.ByTerry A. Lambert@TLambertTNDec 30, 2018, 10:25pm CSTShareTweetShareShareTitans come up short against the Colts, 33-17Jim Brown-USA TODAY SportsThe Titans’ 2018 season ended in Nashville tonight as they dropped their season finale to the Colts. It was a respectable effort from Mike Vrabel’s team, considering the injuries they were dealing with. Unfortunately, Blaine Gabbert just couldn’t keep pace with Andrew Luck tonight, as we all suspected. Andrew Luck starts hotIt’s been well documented that the Titans have never beaten Andrew Luck. Early on, he was doing everything in his power to make sure it stayed that way. A quick Tennessee punt started his first drive at the Colts’ eight yard line. 12 plays and 92 yards, the Colts were up 7-0. Luck went 7-8 on the drive, carving up Dean Pees’ defense with ease. Luck’s next drive started at his own ten, but produced the exact same result. He found Eric Ebron in the endzone for six more, taking firm control of this game in the early stages.Titans struggle offensively out of the gateWithout Marcus Mariota, the Titans predictably struggled to move the football. Blaine Gabbert couldn’t replicate the success he found last week against the Redskins, looking jittery and uncomfortable early on. The Titans couldn’t move the chains, which kept their best weapon in Derrick Henry on the sidelines. Jayon Brown pick-sixDown 14-0, things seemed lost for the Titans in the second quarter. Andrew Luck was getting the ball back and ready to put this one out of reach. Instead of doing that, he let the Titans right back into this one with a pick six. Jayon Brown capitalized on the Titans getting some pressure on Luck, grabbing an easy pick and finishing the play in the endzone. Adoree’s disaster — and bailoutThe momentum from the pick-six seemed to carry over. Tennessee got their first stop of the day Earl Campbell Jersey , forcing a Colts’ punt. The Titans were going to have a shot to go tie the game, but Adoree Jackson muffed the punt. Indianapolis recovered, setting themselves up in the Titans’ redzone. Jackson didn’t initially field the punt, but tried to take it on a bounce. It bounced right off his hands and the Colts recovered. Luckily for him, Jayon Brown was playing the half of his life. Brown poked the ball free from Marlon Mack, then recovered it himself. It was a strange sequence that ended up keeping the Titans breathing for the time being. The Titans were fortunate to be down just 17-10 at halftime. A game-changing penaltyOut of the halftime break, the Titans appeared to have stopped Luck once again, following a couple of big penalties. A 2nd and 25 turned into 3rd and 18. Luck threw an incompletion, but Malcolm Butler was hit with a defensive pass interference call. There was some contact there, but nothing all that major. Still, T.Y. Hilton was well short of the sticks. Butler’s contact there wasn’t necessary, regardless if it was pass interference worthy or not. Luck capitalized two plays later, throwing another touchdown to extend Indy’s lead to 14 points. Welcome to the game, Titans’ offenseAfter trading a couple of punts, Derrick Henry finally busted one open. It was a 33 yard gain and the Titans didn’t waste any time finishing this drive off. Gabbert found Luke Stocker in the flats and Stocker did the rest, barreling into the endzone. Somehow, the Titans were within seven entering the fourth quarter. The Titans got the stop they needed to follow. Gabbert hit Corey Davis for 21 yards to get out of a hole on the goal line. Just when the Titans seemed to have all the momentum needed for a try at the tie, Blaine Gabbert did what he couldn’t do.Gabbert’s drive-ending, momentum destroying turnoverTennessee was actually driving and making a legitimate attempt to tie the game in the fourth quarter. However, Gabbert was faced with a 3rd and 10 from around midfield. He scrambled right, zeroed in on Taywan Taylor and found a Colt instead. It was a devastating blow to the Titans, who had scratched and clawed their way back into this one. Luck and the Colts only added three points, but that was enough to make it a two score game. Unfortunately with under four minutes to play, that was enough to end this one. The Titans end 2018 with a 9-7 mark, just barely missing out on the playoffs. Focus will now turn to Marcus Mariota once again as we all try to figure out what’s going on with his nerve issue.

The Buccaneers are risking that quarterback Jameis Winston‘s $20.9 million salary for 2019 will become fully guaranteed if he suffers an injury today that keeps him from passing a physical by early March. They’re doing so because Jacquizz Rodgers Jersey , reportedly, they intend to pay him $20.9 million in 2019 anyway.Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Bucs intend to keep Winston for next season, the final year of his rookie contract. It’s a bit of a surprise, given that: (1) the Buccaneers can’t sell (or give away) tickets; (2) Winston has been a controversial figure off the field; (3) Winston hasn’t been a great quarterback on the field; and (4) a new coach is coming Jason Pierre-Paul Jersey , by all appearances and indications. So why tie the new coach’s hands with a lame-duck quarterback whom the new coach may not want? Sure, the new coach will say he wants Winston if that’s what delivers the job offer, but then the new coach will bide his time until he can get his own quarterback. The report also suggests that G.M. Jason Licht is safe, since he’s the one who presumably would be determining whether to keep the quarterback. Every year it seems as if each NFL season goes by quicker than the last. It’s already Week 8 in the 2018 season. 107 games have been played in the NFL. Thousands up thousands of snaps have been counted Jameis Winston Jersey White , analyzed, scrutinized, and praised. Fortunately, there are thousands left to play. 49ers fantasy football pick-ups Solomon Thomas Jersey White , drops for Week 4 The San Francisco 49ers have been retooled with a quarterback change. Jimmy Garoppolo tore his ACL in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs which means his season is over, but don’t worry we’ll get to that. Now that C.J. Beathard is in the game, we’ll need to look at how his sophomore performance stacks up with the wide receivers. This is a very depressing fantasy week for 49ers fans. As always, percentage owned numbers are based on Yahoo! leagues.Pick-upsC.J. Beathard% Owned: 1Week 3 stats: Nothing (thanks refs)With Garoppolo out and the weapons the 49ers have, you’d think Beathard wouldn’t be a bad backup, right? No. This is for the three of you were crazy enough to roll with that logic. Take your hands off the left click. Do. Not. Pick. Up. Beathard. While I’m optimistic Beathard’s sophomore season will be an improvement over his rookie outing, he’d have to play lights out to even think of wasting a bench slot. Don’t go homer for this guy. He’s not worth a bench slot in this league. Ever. Really, don’t do it. Pick up or don’t pick up: Don’t pick him up. Unless you already have nothing to play for and are trying to make an all-Niner team. Alfred Morris% Owned: 53Week 3 stats: 14 carries, 67 yardsAs becoming tradition, the 49ers split running back carries, with Matt Breida getting the slight lion’s share of the work this time around. 14 carries for 67 yards and no passes doesn’t bode well for Morris who was used more in the traditional running back mold. Except one difference: Matt Breida is listed as questionable for Week 4 with a hyper-extended right knee. Even if Breida is ready to go on Sunday, that’s not an injury that will have him at 100 percent which may make Morris the featured back.If Breida is out, expect Morris to play bell cow.All things considered, that would increase his workload. If you are in a PPR league that grants points per carry, there’s some treasure to get from this. To add more fun to this scenario, the 49ers may very well run the ball more now that Beathard is behind center , granting carries for all!Just one problem. Until we are proven otherwise, Beathard isn’t the greatest at this throwing the football thing, and the league knows it. Expect defenses to quickly stack the box to where the running backs may not get much room at all. Look at the Cleveland Browns and Carlos Hyde, he now is one of the sneakiest picks someone could have had since Mayfield actually makes lanes for him to run in now that Tyrod Taylor’s bad throwing is no longer a benefit. That considered, the opportunity for volume in a system where everyone is going to stack the box may just find Morris open anyways. This is Kyle freaking Shanahan we’re talking about here.Speaking of Beathard, if you have Breida or Morris, this stat should make you very, very happy. Pick up or don’t pick up: If you need a running back, pick him up. Maybe not with your first waiver claim, but definitely find a way to get him on your team for the foreseeable future. Fool’s goldAll of the 49ers wide receivers% Owned: Don’t get us startedThe 49ers passing game is taking a huge hit with the season-ending injury of Garoppolo. This devalues the stock of the wide receivers. For now, they (hopefully) have been on your bench because none of them have done anything to merit being a started beyond a flex spot (unless you’re in a deeper league). Notice, we are limiting this to wide receivers. George Kittle is about to become a must-start tight end with this roster change. You read it here first. That said, keep what you have on the bench. We don’t know what Beathard will do in his second season or if he has a favorite target that isn’t Kittle/running backs. Give it a week or two if you can sustain the bench because he may have a go-to guy that he wants to throw to, and only throw to them—which makes that pass-catcher money in a PPR league. Well, as long as he can throw in their zip code. Drop or don’t drop: If you got a wide receiver on your team, wait a week or two to see who Beathard favors, then make some decisions accordingly. Jimmy Garoppolo% Owned: 86Week 4 stats: 20 completions, 251 yards; 2 touchdownsLook at that stat train. That’s a Jimmy G we’re familiar with, and had it not been for that last minute injury, the 49ers may have won that game against KC. Unfortunately, we also have to set things straight: His season is over. Jimmy G is gone and he’s not coming back.At least in 2018. It’s time to part ways. So what happens? Well you know you gotta let him go. Release him from your bench and get a new backup or starting QB. I’d recommend Baker Mayfield for a week while you figure it out. He’ll give defenses fits for a week or two while there’s no film and then you can grab whoever is on the board that can fill out your season—or just stream a QB. Things to keep in mind: Garoppolo’s season in fantasy wasn’t terrible. For 2019, he’s definitely a sneaky play in the later rounds as he won’t be getting reached like he was in 2018. You might even want to snag him for a keeper league if you find yourself out of other options, but that might not be worth the keeper tag as your first round running back or wide receiver or even a different quarterback could be better depending on your scoring. But yes, folks. Time to move on. Drop or don’t drop: Drop him. The quarterback took off running, only to find three defenders waiting for him at the goal line.No problem. He simply ran right over them.Cam Newton?Nope, Matt Ryan.Ryan threw a pair of scoring passes Womens C. J. Beathard Jersey , which wasn't all that unusual, and also ran for two touchdowns for the first time in his career, leading the Atlanta Falcons to a 31-24 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday."I can't remember the last time I had two TDs," Ryan said with a smile.Newton was rocked early on by cheap shot from Damontae Kazee , who was thrown out of the game for the helmet-to-helmet hit while the Panthers quarterback was sliding at the end of the run. Newton was able to stay in the game, throwing a pair of touchdown passes, and he had one last chance to send the game to overtime. From the Falcons 31, Newton lofted a pass into the end zone for D.J. Moore, who was double-covered and let the ball slip through his hands as time expired."I had a good shot at it," Moore said, "but it just came down too fast."While Newton rushed for 42 yards, it was Ryan who had the most significant impact with his legs. After scoring on a 1-yard sneak that pushed Atlanta (1-1) to a 24-10 lead early in the third quarter, Ryan delivered the biggest blow with a gutsy scamper midway through the fourth quarter. Looking to throw on third-and-5 from the Carolina 8, he spotted a running lane to the left and took off. There were three Carolina players waiting for him at the goal line — including 346-pound former teammate Dontari Poe — but Ryan leaped in the air and bowled them all over , falling across the goal line for the TD that restored Atlanta's two-touchdown lead over the Panthers (1-1)."I didn't want to slide in that situation or go down because you don't know where you're going to be marked," he said. "I felt something below my feet, and just went up the best I could. It was a good decision."Ryan finished 23 of 28 passing for 272 yards, a performance that took some of the heat off offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian. Roundly panned for his play-calling last season and in a season-opening loss to Philadelphia, he got a bunch of people involved.Eight players caught passes. Six ran the ball including Tevin Coleman, who gained 107 yards on 16 carries filling in for injured Devonta Freeman.Just like that, the Falcons resembled the high-scoring team that made it all the way to the Super Bowl two seasons ago with Kyle Shanahan as the coordinator. The most telling possession for Atlanta came with the first half winding down. Ryan completed six straight passes to five receivers — none of them, amazingly enough, Julio Jones.Tight end Austin Hooper had two catches for 15 yards, including an 8-yard touchdown with 22 seconds remaining that gave the Falcons a 17-10 halftime lead .Backup receiver Marvin Hall had a 30-yard reception, while rookie Calvin Ridley hauled in a 22-yarder. The running backs also got into the passing game, with Coleman and rookie Ito Smith also making catches.Ridley, a first-round pick from Alabama, had his first career TD on an 11-yard pass in the second quarter .CHEAP SHOTThe Panthers were livid about Kazee's hit on Newton, who was sliding to the turf at the end of a 10-yard run. Kazee came at him helmet-first, snapping back Newton's head.Carolina receiver Torrey Smith raced in to deliver a shot that sent Kazee to the turf, also drawing a personal foul penalty but not an ejection. Ricardo Allen jumped on top of Kazee to prevent any other Carolina players from going after him.Newton was quickly examined and returned to the field without missing a play.Afterward, he didn't seem too upset."This game isn't fit for cheap shots like that, but at the end of the day you can't blame him," Newton said. "He's playing as hard as he can. I'm playing as hard as I can."BALANCED FALCONSCoach Dan Quinn wanted balance from his offense.Mission accomplished. The Falcons ran the ball 32 times for 170 yards. They threw 28 passes for 272 yards, finishing with the second-most total yards (442) of Sarkisian's 20-game tenure. Even more important, they scored on all four trips inside the red zone, a longstanding issue. This was the fifth time the Falcons have scored at least 30 points under Sarkisian, compared with 13 times in 19 games during the 2016 season. They have yet to score 40 points under their current coordinator; Atlanta did it six times in Shanahan's final season.INJURY REPORTThe injuries continued to pile up for both teams, which already were dealing with several missing starters. The Falcons lost starting left guard Andy Levitre to an elbow injury, while backup defensive end Derrick Shelby left with a groin injury.Carolina had a pair of starters in the secondary go down: strong safety Da'Norris Searcy (concussion) and cornerback Donte Jackson (hamstring).UP NEXTPanthers: Return home next Sunday to host the Cincinnati Bengals (2-0), who have 10 days to prepare after playing this past Thursday night.Falcons: Play their second straight home game against an NFC South rival when the New Orleans Saints (1-1) visit Mercedes-Benz Stadium.Follow Paul Newberry on Twitter at pnewberry1963 . On paper Womens Rasheem Green Jersey , the idea of playing Bobby Wagner, K.J. Wright and Mychal Kendricks at the same time wouldn’t seem to be the easiest fit for the Seattle Seahawks. However, head coach Pete Carroll is excited about finding a way to make it all work.“Really looking forward to the combination of the three guys playing together,” Carroll said at the league meetings on Tuesday morning. “I don’t think we’ve ever been better. When that all comes together — we’ve got all kinds of ideas and things we want to do with those guys to use their strengths.”Wright and Wagner have played together for seven years. However, Wright and Kendricks would both seemingly be best suited at Seattle’s weak-side linebacker position. It’s the spot Wright has played for most of his Seahawks’ tenure and the spot Kendricks played last season in place of Wright when he was injured. The weak-side and strong-side positions have fundamentally different roles in Seattle’s defense. The strong-side linebacker lines up on the line of scrimmage while the weak-side lines up four yards off the ball.In an interview with KJR last week, Wright said he fully expects to remain at his weak-side spot.“I’m not going to SAM,” Wright said. “If the SAM is off the ball, I’ll go to SAM but I’ve got to be off the ball. They’ve got to get creative with how they utilize everyone. But me on the ball is no-go.”The strong-side position is better suited for a larger player, which makes Kendricks – listed at 6-feet, 240 pounds – a curious fit for that spot.Nevertheless, the trio of Wright, Wagner and Kendricks are arguably as talented a set of linebackers as the team has had under Carroll. Roles could be tweaked to better suit the collection of talent they’ve accumulated.“That flexibility is going to give an added dimension to us Womens Jason Myers Jersey , we’ll be able to move those guys around. The plan is absolutely to play them at the same time,” Carroll said. With Wright injured and Kendricks suspended for large portions of last season, the Seahawks had to call upon Barkevious Mingo, Austin Calitro and Shaquem Griffin to cover the absences at linebacker. Mingo’s remains an option at the strong-side linebacker spot as well. It’s the spot he played most last season.Additionally, it provides some insurance in case any of the three go down. The caveat with Kendricks remains potential jail time stemming from a guilty plea to insider trading charges last September. However, his sentencing hearing has been postponed for a second time. He already served an eight-game suspension for the transgressions last season so no further league penalties are expected. Now it’s just up to Carroll to find a way to make it all work together.“The expectations are really high and those guys are going to be really good,” Carroll said. The Seattle Seahawks struck a deal with the Jaguars to move back into the 2019 NFL Draft after making their final selection, acquiring pick 236 to select wide receiver John Ursua. In order to..."The Seattle Seahawks struck a deal with the Jaguars to move back into the 2019 NFL Draft after making their final selection, acquiring pick 236 to select wide receiver John Ursua. In order to select Ursua—and ensure his services rather than risking rookie free agency—the Seahawks dealt a 2020 sixth round pick to Jacksonville. Athletic FitUrsua checks all of Seattle’s boxes at wide receiver, with great explosiveness—a 10-foot broad jump and 37” vertical—and agility (6.77 three cone is the second fastest among receivers drafted by the Seahawks since 2010). Though Ursua is slightly undersized, even for a slot at 178 pounds, it’s only a little lighter than Tyler Lockett weighed in at ahead of his draft. Where Ursua WinsAfter thriving as an underneath receiver at Hawaii Frank Clark Jersey Green , Ursua projects as a slot receiver for Seattle. He wins with crisp breaks at the top, and an ability to find and exploit space over the middle of the field. Ursua’s great agility and functional speed help him to create in open space after receiving the ball, as well. Where Ursua LosesThere is a decent chance Ursua can create a handful of plays a game at the next level if he’s played into his strengths. Beyond that, he’s limited. Ursua isn’t particularly strong at the catch point—he needs to separate—and is bullied by defensive backs if they get their hands on him. Though they may have similar measurables, Ursua isn’t nearly as threatening vertically as Lockett, either. Year One RoleUrsua is going to have an uphill climb to make the roster, surrounded by Lockett, David Moore, D.K. Metcalf, Gary Jennings, Jaron Brown, Malik Turner and possibly Doug Baldwin. He’s likely too small to make much of an impact on special teams Barkevious Mingo Jersey Green , but perhaps Ursua can carve out a role—and buy himself some time—as a returner and gadget player. Best Case ScenarioIf the Seahawks want to dial back Lockett’s touches on special teams, there will be a chance for Ursua to take over that spot. If he can continue to develop as a receiver, and strengthen, perhaps he can become an inside receiver as the team’s fourth or fifth option. Worst Case ScenarioAs a seventh round pick, Ursua’s roster spot is hardly a guarantee. Seattle’s receiver corps has a wide range of skill sets, and Ursua could quite easily be the seventh or eighth receiver on the depth chart by the end of August. Though he would presumably land on the practice squad, the worst case scenario would see him fail to do even that.My TakeThe Seahawks evidently saw something in Ursua to make a trade to secure him, instead of rolling the dice in the post-draft scramble for free agents. He’s an intriguing athlete who produced in college, and with a hole likely to appear at slot receiver, Ursua is worth the shot.

Kenny Bell has not had the professional football career he envisioned. Bell’s father played in the NFL O. J. Howard Jersey White , Kenny was a high school star, at Nebraska he was first-team All-Big Ten and became the Cornhuskers’ all-time leader in receiving yards. He was drafted by the Buccaneers in 2015, but a series of injuries kept him from ever taking the field in an NFL game. When he was injured once again in Broncos training camp in August, that looked like the end of his playing career. But then the Alliance of American Football came calling. Bell signed last fall with the Salt Lake Stallions of the AAF, and he finally got on the field when the Stallions made their debut last night. On Twitter after the game, Bell described what that meant to him.“Words don’t do justice to the overwhelming amount of appreciation I am feeling,” Bell wrote. “Tonight was the first time I got to play football in a real game in over four years. It’s been a brutal four years chasing this dream and tonight you all blessed me with the greatest feeling of love and support one could ask for.”Whether the AAF proves popular enough with fans to stick around for the long haul remains to be seen. Yes, the Alliance of American Football kicks off tonight, but for football fans that aren’t buying into that hype just yet, the focus is on April’s NFL Draft. Specifically for fans of the Buccaneers, there’s a lot of talk about which way the team could go with their No. 5 pick and their subsequent selections.Considering Tampa Bay has a new head coach — and an entirely new staff — there will be changes in scheme, approach and just about everything else. So, does the hiring of Bruce Arians as the new head coach have any effect on how general manager Jason Licht goes about the draft? Obviously, the two will work closely together during the process. When it comes to the actual selections, who knows which way the Bucs will go? For now, we can take a look at Arians’ draft history with the Arizona Cardinals and see if there were/are any trends that are noteworthy. There are obviously a number of differences between the situation that Arians is in now with the Bucs and the one he was in with the Cardinals, but regardless, here we go.First-Rounders2013: Seventh overall— Jonathan Cooper (Guard, North Carolina)2014: 27th overall— Deone Bucannon (Safety, Washington State)2015: 24th overall— D.J. Humphries (Offensive Tackle, Florida)2016: 29th overall— Robert Nkemdiche (Defensive Tackle, Ole Miss)2017: 13th overall— Haason Reddick (Linebacker, Temple)What strikes me first about these five picks is how closely they fall in line with the needs on Tampa Bay’s roster right now. For the Bucs, it’s not about finding a quarterback, a wide receiver or even a first-round running back. Right now, it’s all about the offensive line and the defense as a whole. Only one of Arians’ selections in Arizona was a top-10 pick, and with it, the team grabbed a guard. There’s been plenty of talk already this offseason about not drafting a guard at such a high slot, but we can see that Arians has been a part of that before.Seeing as how three of the five picks listed above addressed the trenches, maybe we’ll see Tampa Bay go that route in April. I don’t think anyone would be too upset about that. At the same time, there’s also a linebacker up there. Could LSU’s Devin White or Michigan’s Devin Bush be on the team’s radar? Of course they could be. Other Top-100 Picks2013: 45th overall— Kevin Minter (Linebacker, LSU)69th overall— Tyrann Mathieu (Safety, LSU)2014: 52nd overall— Troy Niklas (Tight End, Notre Dame)84th overall— Kareem Martin (Defensive End Beau Allen Jersey , North Carolina)91st overall— John Brown (Wide Receiver, Pittsburgh State)2015: 58th overall— Markus Golden (Defensive End, Missouri)86th overall— David Johnson (Running Back, Northern Iowa)2016: 92nd overall— Brandon Williams (Cornerback, Texas A&M)2017: 36th overall— Budda Baker (Safety, Washington)98th overall— Chad Williams (Wide Receiver, Grambling State)What’s interesting about these picks is that in the first three years, Arizona didn’t address the same side of the ball in the first two rounds of the draft. In 2013, the Cardinals went offense in the first round and defense in the second. In 2014, it was defense in the first and offense in the second. The following year, it was the same trend as 2013. But by 2016 and 2017, Arians and his staff decided to go defense with their first two picks in both years. Because the Bucs have such desperate needs on both sides of the trenches, we might see something similar to what the Cards did in the first three years.Another takeaway from the rest of the top-100 guys is the inclusion of skill players on offense. Arians and his staff found gems in David Johnson and John Brown, who were both third-round picks. At this point in the draft process, Tampa Bay doesn’t have an excessive number of mid-round picks. But if Arians and Licht end up with some more second or third-round selections, don’t be surprised if they try to find gems like that. The team could use some help in the backfield and potentially at wide receiver as well if both DeSean Jackson and Adam Humphries are gone from the roster. The Later Rounds2013: 103rd overall— Alex Okafor (Linebacker, Texas)116th overall— Earl Watford (Guard, James Madison)140th overall— Stepfan Taylor (Running Back, Stanford)174th overall— Ryan Swope (Wide Receiver, Texas A&M)187th overall— Andre Ellington (Running Back, Clemson)219th overall— D.C. Jefferson (Tight End, Rutgers)2014: 120th overall— Logan Thomas (Quarterback, Virginia Tech)160th overall— Ed Stinson (Defensive End, Alabama)196th overall— Walt Powell (Wide Receiver, Murray State)2015: 116th overall— Rodney Gunter (Defensive Tackle, Delaware State)158th overall— Shaquille Riddick (Defensive End, West Virginia)159th overall— J.J. Nelson (Wide Receiver, UAB)256th overall— Gerald Christian (Tight End, Louisville)2016: 128th overall— Evan Boehm (Center http://www.buccaneerslockerroom.com/authentic-ronde-barber-jersey , Missouri)167th overall— Marqui Christian (Safety, Midwestern State)170th overall— Cole Toner (Offensive Tackle, Harvard)205th overall— Harlan Miller (Cornerback, Southeastern Louisiana)2017: 115th overall— Dorian Johnson (Guard, Pittsburgh)157th overall— Will Holden (Offensive Tackle, Vanderbilt)179th overall— T.J. Logan (Running Back, North Carolina)208th overall— Rudy Ford (Safety, Auburn)The later rounds varied, as expected, though there was a common theme throughout all five years of Arians’ tenure. In each draft, the Cardinals selected two players from the same position. In 2013, it was two linebackers in the first four picks and then running backs in back-to-back rounds. In 2014, the team went with two defensive ends (one in the third, one in the fifth). Once again in 2015, it was defensive ends (one in the second, one in the fifth).By 2016 and 2017, the Cardinals were addressing their secondary. In the 2016 draft, they selected cornerbacks in the third and sixth round, while drafting safeties in the second and sixth rounds during the 2017 draft. With all of this, it’s clear that Arians has a tendency to use the later rounds to stock up on depth. So, if the Bucs go with an EDGE guy in round one, don’t be surprised to see them swing back around in the fourth or fifth round and grab another. The same goes for offensive tackle, guard, etc. Repeating positions is something Licht has done in the past with the Bucs anyway, so it’s not a new concept. But having a head coach and a general manager who seem to share that philosophy and history almost guarantees that the team will employ such an approach this April. Now it’s your turn, Bucs fans. What takeaways did you have from taking a look at Arizona’s draft history under Arians? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hope they’re finally getting it right on defense. After selecting linebacker Devin White in Thursday’s first round, the Bucs reiterated their commitment to improving on defense by selecting Central Michigan cornerback Sean Bunting in the second round and Auburn cornerback Jamel Dean and Kentucky safety Mike Edwards in the third round on Friday night. The Bucs were one of the NFL’s most productive teams on offense last year but missed the playoffs for the 11th consecutive season because of an inconsistent pass rush and an inability to keep opponents out of the end zone.New coach Bruce Arians and general manager Jason Licht are determined to change that, bringing in three potential starters in free agency and using the club’s first four picks in this week’s draft to bolster a unit that ranked 24th in total defense while allowing 29 points per game 鈥?second-most in the league in 2018.“When Bruce came in … we knew we had to address that side of the ball,” said Licht Ali Marpet Jersey , who’s leading his sixth draft as Bucs GM.The pass rush and a leaky secondary have been liabilities throughout the GM’s tenure.More Tampa Bay Buccaneers newsBucs rebuild on defense, surround Jameis Winston with playmakers in NFL DraftBuccaneers take Lou Groza Award winning kicker Matt Gay in 5th roundBuccaneers select Central Michigan CB Sean Bunting 39th overall in NFL draftBuccaneers take LSU’s Devin White with 5th overall pickBuccaneers Draft Preview: Filling holes in leaky defense priority for new coach Bruce Arians, GM Jason LichtIncluding the three players added Friday, the Bucs have drafted six defensive backs since 2016, though Licht said that’s not necessarily “an indictment on the players who are here.”“You’re always trying to get better,” he said, adding that a lack of depth in the secondary was a problem last season, when the Bucs finished 5-11 for the second straight year.“Competition is a beautiful thing in this league,” said the GM, who lured Arians out of retirement and back to the sideline in January.Bunting was the seventh player taken in the second round, 39th overall. Dean and Edwards were selected 94th and 99th, respectively, with picks obtained when Tampa Bay traded No. 70 overall to the Los Angeles Rams.Bunting is the first cornerback drafted out of the Mid-American Conference school in 34 years and the highest drafted player from Central Michigan since offensive lineman Eric Fisher was the No. 1 overall pick in 2013.“It was just a blessing, honestly. I couldn’t process the moment when it happened,” Bunting said of getting the call from the Bucs. “I could only kind of smile and stare at the TV screen.”In Tampa Bay, he’ll join White, Dean and Edwards as part of a potential fix for one of the NFL’s worst defenses.White, an inside linebacker out of LSU, was the fifth pick of the opening round. The Bucs selected him even though Josh Allen, the top-rated edge pass rusher in the draft, was still available.Arians and Licht said the 6-foot, 237-pound White fits everything they were looking for in a leader and versatile defender.“The tape speaks for itself,” Arians said. “People say: ‘You need a pass-rusher.’ He’s pretty good at that and we do like to blitz up the middle 鈥?quarterbacks don’t like pressure up the middle. He fits everything that we want as a human being and as a football player. I really couldn’t be any more ecstatic.”White and Bunting, who had nine career interceptions in college, will get an opportunity to compete for starting jobs as rookies in the new 3-4 scheme being installed by Bucs defensive coordinator Todd Bowles.“I would say my best attribute is being able to take the ball out of the air,” Bunting said. “I’m a ball hawk. I consider myself a receiving defensive back. That something I take pride in, taking the ball away and giving it back to the offense.”

Happy February Alfred Morris Jersey White , Oh wait! It is going to rain.It was reported today that the 49ers are rolling over 35 million dollars in cap space from 2018 and Over The Cap reports that we have $61,881,508 dollars in cap space. People are getting all excited about this and how we should spend sixty million on free agents. Let me start with we have fifty million less in cap space than we did this time last year. Where did the money go?Most of it went to front loading a guy named Jimmy Garoppolo’s contract. You know, the guy that got injured and missed most of the season. Part of it went to Jerick McKinnon’s contract. You know, the guy that got hurt and missed the entire season. Part of it went to Weston Richburg’s contract. You know, the guy that played injured all season and did not meet expectations. By now this has to seem pretty redundant but we also got Richard Sherman and he was only injured part of the time.Between those four players, some extensions and some signings like Mike Person, the 49ers have fifty million dollars less in cap space than we did last year. Now let’s realize that the thirty five million dollars we are rolling over is like the money you save in your bank account. Once it is gone it is not going to be there unless you start putting money back in. While it is true that the money is not working for the 49ers if it is stuck in the bank, you still need to keep some money put away for a rainy day and future spending like extending Deforest Buckner. Now we have expenses like signing our own free agents, signing our draft picks and dead money from the players that people are in such a hurry to get rid of. Each one of those is a topic for discussion in itself.Cutting CJ Beathard, Pierre Garcon, Garry Gilliam, Earl Mitchell, Dakota Watson, Malcolm Smith, and Brock Coyle would cost us $14,987,812 in dead money. There was an article yesterday about it costing four and a half million to sign Robbie Gould and it probably will cost the same to sign Mike Person and we still have players like Raheem Mostert and Elijah Lee that we might also like to extend. According to Over The Cap it will cost us $10,107,303 dollars to sign our draft picks which is not completely accurate because they displace other players that already count against either the top fifty one or eventually the fifty three man roster. My point is that we are going to have between thirty and thirty five million in costs before we even think about signing free agents. While cutting players might raise our cap space to around seventy million, we still only have less than thirty five million dollars left for signing free agents and we need to save some money for a rainy day for things like signing players to replace players on our roster when they are injured.I hear people saying things like we can pay these players on the money we won’t be paying the players that we cut this year. We are not paying those players this year. How are we going to have any more than the amount we are spending this year on dead money? We also aren’t going to have the roll over cap money we have this year to help pay their wages next year and we still need to extend DeForest Buckner.Anyway, time to get to the hot links:Marquise Goodwin says he sees himself as the Antonio Brown of the 49ersDavid BonillaNiners keep key assistants in midst of coaching changesJohn David MercerTrent Brown: All that “bullcrap” said about me slandered my nameCharean WilliamsEx-49ers linebacker Reuben Foster still could face NFL suspensionMatt MaioccoBrowns, Colts carrying over most cap space from 2018 to 2019Josh AlperTop 10 49ers Entering the 2019 Season: Pre-Free-Agency Edition No. 6-10Bobby Home49ers TE George Kittle is a great receiver but takes a lot of pride in his blockingDavid BonillaKyle Shanahan, NFL greats believe John Lynch should be in Hall of FameJennifer Lee ChanChad Johnson wants to see his friend, Antonio Brown, with the 49ers, leaving Stephen A. What if the team trades out of the second overall pick? Today, we will take a look at another defensive lineman who made his presence known at Clemson. Today the spotlight is on defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence. Let’s learn more about Lawrence and what he brings to the table.Combine Results:40 Yard Dash: 5.05Bench Reps: 36 Reps (Watch the video above!)Measurables:Height: 6’4”Weight: 342 lbs.Hands: 10 陆Arms: 34 戮”Summary:Dexter Lawrence has outstanding size and power along the defensive line. Lawrence has a tremendous frame with an unbelievable blend of power and size. Seriously, this man has power along the defensive line and makes the opposition look downright silly at times. For a player of his size, Lawrence has impressive athleticism. He is one of the best defensive linemen against the run. Running backs and ball carriers rarely were able to produce yards beyond initial contact by Lawrence, who was a run-stuffing machine up the middle. While there is still room for growth in the pass rushing department, his raw talent to create chaos and disruption in the opponent’s backfield is second to none. Lawrence uses his lengthy arms and pro-ready frame to deflect and bat down passes, and break up plays along the line of scrimmage. On tape, Lawrence often over-powers and beats out single coverage against him along the line.He uses a blend of raw power and limited moves to create pressure on the quarterback. Has clean footwork off the snap, with sudden burst off the line. His footwork produces violent power along the line.Don’t let his size frighten you鈥awrence might be one of the fastest draft-eligible defensive lineman. He has that natural blend of size and athleticism that scouts and evaluators seek at the next level.Other than his football traits, Lawrence has great character and a team-first attitude. I firmly believe the failed drug test and suspension from the College Football Playoff was unintentional and an unfortunate mistake. Lawrence is coachable, and continues to discover growth and potential in his game. If you are still unsure about Lawrence, his head coach says it all in one telling statement, “When you have great talent and skill plus great work ethic and character, you usually become a superstar” - Dabo Swinney, Clemson Head Coach. Is Lawrence a fit for the 49ers?Considering that the 49ers continued to have issues with stopping the run, that by default should have the team interested in Lawrence’s services. Let’s get this out of the way. The 49ers will only be interested in Lawrence if they trade out of the number two pick and don’t select a defensive lineman. However, should they go that route, Lawrence would plug in and become an instant contributor along the defensive line, as a run-stuffing defender who can also create pressure and cause disruption in the opponent’s backfield on passing downs. In order to be successful, you need to be able to stop the run (Even in a pass-friendly league). Lawrence is versatile where he would fit in a 4-3 or 3-4 base. If the 49ers don’t address the defensive line with their first pick because they traded down then Lawrence could be an intriguing option. Depending on what the 49ers receive in the trade down, perhaps they can target Lawrence later in the first round or move up into the back-half of the first round. I know it sounds like a long shot, however who’s going to complain about a line featuring Dee Ford, DeForest Buckner, Dexter Lawrence, and Arik Armstead. What are YOUR thoughts on Dexter Lawrence? If the 49ers don’t use their second overall pick on a defensive linesman would you take a chance on Lawrence to improve the run defense? Please share in the comments below!

push to earn spot in Seahawks’ starting lineup Brandon Marshall has played twelve seasons in the National Football League http://www.seahawkslockerroom.com/authentic-michael-dickson-jersey , exceeded 100 catches six times, made the Pro Bowl six times, earned first-team All-Pro honors once, and second-team All-Pro just three years ago. If he wasn’t stuck with the likes of Kyle Orton, Matt Moore, and Ryan Fitzpatrick throughout his career, there would be strong arguments for him to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.At 34 years old and coming off an injury-shortened, drop-filled 2017 season with the New York Giants, Marshall now finds himself with the Seattle Seahawks, and while initial talk was that he’d be fighting for a roster spot, it looks like he’s been one of the standouts throughout training camp. Having worked his way back to full health (or as full as can be), Marshall is now working out with the first-team offense, and perhaps we’ll see him get extended playing time in one of Seattle’s next two preseason games. From Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer:From head coach Pete Carroll:From quarterback Russell Wilson at Thursday’s training camp, in which Marshall had multiple touchdowns:It appears as if Wilson and Marshall have worked considerably on back-shoulder throws and jump-ball situations, which could certainly serve as a solid replacement for Jimmy Graham. The assumption is that Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett will be the top two receivers on the depth chart, with Jaron Brown at #3, but if Marshall keeps up the good work, he may very well supplant Brown in the pecking order and become a starter. This “prove-it” deal might be one of those low-risk, signings that yields a good reward.I’m quite eager to see Marshall get some looks in preseason to see how much he has to offer in live game action. His days as a #1 WR are clearly over, but Seattle doesn’t need him to be even 2015 Brandon Marshall. If he can be the primary red-zone target, I’ll consider that a success. And maybe, just maybe http://www.seahawkslockerroom.com/authentic-nick-vannett-jersey , Marshall will finally experience playoff football for the first time in his career. It is always depressing and deeply embittering to discover what seems like a great performance is in fact a great act of cheating. I believe the moldering bones of John Dryden said it best when they said:“When I consider life, ‘tis all a cheat;Yet, fool’d with hope, men favour the deceit;Trust on, and think to-morrow will gainsay;Russell Wilson’s tool-assisted super-play!”So let us gainsay, let us all gainsay together as one big gainsaying bunch o’ gainsayers! Wilson’s deception must be exposed! For surely no mortal man could have made this pass. The details which expose this fraud are both obvious and subtle.Let us begin with some of the irregularities which preceded and perhaps foreshadowed Wilson’s hoax. In doing we will see just how far this conspiracy goes.First consider this bizarre section of ESPN’s win probability graphic. You will see it contains seemingly-impossible foreknowledge of Wilson’s coming heroics. Consider the fact that Seattle’s win probability increased following Chris Carson’s run for a loss of two on first and ten.Surely the algorithm was programmed to recognize the flash of Justin Britt’s 68 as he was bullied back by Derrick Nnadi as a signal that Wilson’s chicanery was imminent. How else can we explain Britt, a highly-paid veteran regularly praised by his teammates and coaches, being so clearly and demonstrably overpowered by a rookie? We can’t. That the distinctive pattern of Britt’s 68 relayed a signal to an orbiting satellite which triggered or “turned on” Russell Wilson’s cybernetic enhancements is the only plausible explanation. And this, my friends, is but the tip of the iceberg! Now let us look at the play in question.Chiefs’ defensive coordinator Bob Sutton calls a play in which every defender is within five yards of the line of scrimmage. Facing the best deep passer in the NFL this is an indefensible decision. One might be tempted, maybe to satisfy that optimistic Pippa found in the souls of all sheeple, to explain Sutton’s decision as a natural reaction to Seattle’s tendency to run on first and second down. Further pointing out that the Seahawks had the lead with only three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, and that running the ball, even if that run lost yards, would force Kansas City to call its timeouts, thereby functionally shortening the clock.“Explanations exist; they have existed for all time; there is always a well-known solution to every human problem — neat, plausible, and wrong.” —JuvenalWe know now that running does not affect the success of passing, and that if rushing were outlawed by the League, that play-action passing would be equally if not more effective than it now is. Indeed the only possible conclusion we can draw from the above is that Sutton is a co-conspirator, a double agent selectively working against his team’s cause. But enough of this prelude. Let us see the hopeful monster of servos, gizmos Will Dissly Jersey , fullerenes and augmented human cells the Draconians have crafted for our continuous blithe distraction from their parasitic machinations. Here we see the throw begin. Hold on to your xxxxxx hat.Let us first discuss those tentacle like appendages we may be tempted to call legs.Neurons communicate at 432 kilometers per hour. To accomplish this they must cover themselves in cheese puffs and spin like a drunken dervish.432 kilometers an hour might seem fast, but remember there are many thousands of kilometers in every mile. Were Wilson human and human only, it would be impossible for his mind to communicate with his legs and his legs to communicate with his mind in time to coordinate this feat of athleticism. Which is why QWOP is so fun and realistic. Instead through what is deviously referred to as “practice” Wilson’s “brain” is able to communicate an entire sequence of motions and seemingly faster than is possible. I bet.Of course Wilson is not only executing flawless footwork in violation of all neuroscience and human capability, he is calculating a theoretical point of completion. This requires Wilson to know where Tyler Lockett, who is only 10 yards down field at the moment the ball leaves Wilson’s hand, will be an additional 30 yards down field.Lockett, who is being bumped and hand-checked by Charvarius Ward, can not hope to run a route identical to one he ran in practice. Seemingly, Lockett can not hope to communicate to Wilson exactly how Ward’s interference has changed his route. Wilson therefore could not hope to throw to where Lockett would end up with such pinpoint accuracy. This of course raises the specter of telepathy. But dear reader I tell you telepathy would not be enough! With his massive hands Wilson must exert torque imparting spin which gyroscopically stabilizes the pass. But would such stabilization allow a ball to traverse variable humidity and shifting winds in the lower troposphere?Of course not. We’re dealing with straight up psychokinesis here, folks. As put forth by renowned evolutionary biologist and noted skeptic Richard Dawkins:“... [A] paranormalist could really ... be the discoverer of a totally new principle unknown to physical science. The discoverer of the new energy field that links mind to mind in telepathy, or of the new fundamental force that moves objects around a table top, deserves a Nobel prize[.]”Above we see indisputable proof of just that: a totally new principle unknown to physical science. Two players communicating though neither can speak to the other. A ball in flight guided not by ballistics but something far more eerie and uncanny. Yet stranger still is how that ball can even reach Lockett. Does it not, as Zeno’s arrow, depend on an infinite regression? Does the ball not have to first go halfway before reaching Lockett, and after must it not go halfway of the remaining half, and halfway again and again ad infinitum!? And what is halfway when a projectile aims for a moving target? How can a ball traverse both an infinite series of halfways when it must also traverse infinite permutations of halfway!?!?Now, you might be thinking that I am misrepresenting the ideas of Dawkins. You might also be thinking that Zeno’s paradox is really only a paradox of language, and proves little but the impossibility of capturing the complex and infinitely subtle nature of motion through words like “halfway” and “instant.” You might even think I’m a bit of a nutter, or that I’m pulling your leg, or that I’m high on drugs right this minute. Ha! The unthinking masses like to think! That’s what they do!But answer me this, thinker: How could a human being throw a prolate spheroid made of leather in outdoor conditions to a hypothesized point 45 yards down field where one human being may catch it but another human being—so close the two’re touching—can not?You can’t. No one can.

CALGARY Tyson Barrie Jersey , Alberta (AP) — scratch to catalyst for the Calgary Flames.Frolik scored two goals to lead the Flames to a 5-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night.“It feels good when you can help the team win the game,” the veteran winger said.Frolik had to watch his teammates edge the Avalanche 3-2 in overtime Saturday in Colorado.“I didn’t have the start I was looking for, but it’s a long season,” he said. “I just try to work hard in practice, get better every day and hopefully it’s going to turn around.“Tonight was a good start. Hopefully I can keep going.”Johnny Gaudreau collected his 100th NHL goal and rookie defenseman Juusu Valimaki scored his first for the Flames. Matthew Tkachuk added an empty-net goal.Mikael Backlund and Michael Stone each had two assists as Calgary won its second straight home game. Goaltender Mike Smith stopped 24 of 26 shots in the win.“I like the fact we have the ability to generate offense. Now, we’ll work on other things,” Calgary coach Bill Peters said. “We’re not quite there defensively or our play away from the puck in the neutral zone, but when we get there, we’ll be a much better team.”Patrice Bergeron had a goal and an assist for the Bruins. Brad Marchand also scored. Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask turned away 24 shots in the loss.“I don’t think we were as clean as we needed to be obviously against a team that forechecks and checks well,” Boston coach Bruce Cassidy said. “That was clearly an issue throughout the game. Execution wasn’t good enough to beat a good hockey team.”The Bruins trailed 4-2 heading into the final period.Marchand was lightly defended when he scored at 13:45 of the second, taking a pass from Bergeron and scoring past Smith.Frolik nearly completed a hat trick on a short-handed breakaway Matt Martin Jersey Womens , but his backhanded shot sailed over the Boston net. The Czech’s second goal came results from a Boston turnover in the offensive zone. Backlund flipped the puck across the slot, and Frolik tapped it over Rask’s stick at 3:32.On Boston’s first rush after killing off Calgary’s two-man advantage, Bergeron scored at 2:40 on a give-and-go with David Krejci. What appeared to be a goal by David Pastrnak late in the first period didn’t survive a coach’s challenge by Calgary’s Bill Peters. The Bruins were ruled offside.Valimaki’s first NHL goal gave the Flames a 3-0 lead at 16:08 of the first period. With Sam Bennett in front of Rask, the 20-year-old Valimaki’s shot from the top of the circle rolled over the goaltender and over the goal line.“I was happy actually finding out it was mine. Pretty awkward moment at the start because I didn’t know it was mine,” Valimaki said. “All the guys on the bench said ‘it’s yours’ and it felt great.”Gaudreau collected his milestone goal at 15:20. At the top of the crease, Sean Monahan batted the puck down low to the winger, and Gaudreau scored from a tough angle.Frolik had half an open net for a target following a nice passing play by Tkachuk and Backlund. Tkachuk hustled into the offensive zone to backhand the puck to Backlund, who was moving into the slot. Backlund flipped the puck over to Frolik to score at 4:36.NOTES: Flames: Gaudreau crumpled after taking a high hit from Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy in the third period. DALLAS (AP) — Pierre-Luc Dubois thought he had a tiebreaking goal for Columbus in the third period before Dallas goalie Anton Khudobin came up with a big save. Seconds later, Dubois had another chance and made it count.Dubois scored midway through the third period and the Blue Jackets beat the Stars 2-1 on Monday night.“(Khudobin) made a really nice save. (You) hope you have it back,” Dubois said. The goalie didn’t have much of a chance 29 seconds later when Dubois took a pass from Cam Atkinson behind the net and backhanded the puck under the crossbar with 9:39 left for his eighth goal.“He’s a good player Seth Griffith Jersey Womens ,” Columbus coach John Tortorella said, “and he’s just beginning in this league.”Dubois credited Atkinson.“Cam made a nice play to bring it back around the net,” Dubois said. “I was lucky enough to get a stick on it.”Atkinson had scored the game’s first goal in the second period.Alexander Radulov, who returned to the Stars’ lineup, tied the game in the second period. The Blue Jackets extended their points streak to five games (3-0-2) and are two points ahead of the New York Rangers in the Metropolitan Division. Columbus killed all three Stars penalties and held Dallas to one shot on goal with the man advantage, while building a 10-9 edge on shots for the period.“The power play cost us the points,” Radulov said. “It’s all about work, winning the battles. (Columbus) did a good job obviously, but we’ve got to come up stronger.”The Stars’ only penalty in the first was a major to Jamie Benn for a fight with Columbus forward Josh Anderson.“It’s close to what the game should be played like,” Tortorella said. “A fight. A couple high sticks here and there. And scrums. Both teams played hard. Didn’t give each other many scoring opportunities.”Stars coach Jim Montgomery was disappointed in Dallas’ 0-for-4 power play.“The word that describes it is discombobulated,” he said.It didn’t take long for the Blue Jackets to get their first power play and a 1-0 lead. He had missed 10 of the previous 11 games because of a lower-body injury.“He’s a fiery guy,” teammate Jason Spezza said. “He means a lot for us. You don’t take a guy of that caliber out of your lineup and not miss him.”Montgomery thought Radulov’s goal would provide a spark.“We had a really good feeling going into the third. We didn’t seem to be able to build momentum off of that,” he said.NOTES: Stars C Devin Shore (lower-body injury) left the game in the first period and didn’t return. When you’re the guy to pass, you’re the guy to pass. That’s the way we’ve always worked.”Jacob Trouba and Nikolaj Ehlers also scored for the Jets, who snapped a two-game skid and improved to 5-5 in their last 10 games. Other teams are taking it to us,” Boston head coach Bruce Cassidy said of his team’s poor starts. “They clearly have more energy early on. Some of that could be fatigue in our group. Some of it could be personnel in our lineup that are a little nervous to get started.“We took an offensive-zone penalty against one of the better power plays so there’s a number of things. It’s not one thing. It’s different things that usually add up and that was it tonight.”Winnipeg’s top line of Laine, Scheifele and Wheeler did the early damage, giving the home team a 2-0 lead in the opening period that turned into a 2-2 contest midway through the second.Wheeler scored his 20th of the season 1:08 into the game off a rebound after Laine’s one-timer hit the crossbar.Laine found Scheifele rushing to the net on the power play and sent him a pass for his career-high, team-leading 33rd with 8:36 left in the opening period. Scheifele had been held off the scoresheet the previous four games.Rask was ready for Laine to shoot.“All the options are right there, obviously Madison Bowey Jersey , but when it’s one of the best shooters in the league you don’t want to cheat on that so I just didn’t make the push on time,” Rask said of the Finnish sniper who has 29 goals this season.Laine was planning to shoot.“Yeah, I thought I was going to shoot, too,” he said. “If I don’t know what I’m doing, I don’t think the goalie’s going to know what I’m doing. I thought first I was going to shoot it, I was pretty close. But then I saw Scheif back door so might as well pass it sometimes.“I’m not just a shooter, I guess,” Laine added. “I’m a pretty decent passer as well, like we saw in this game.”McAvoy’s high shot with 2:37 remaining in the period cut the lead to 2-1 and Nordstrom tied it up midway through the second when he banged in a rebound behind a sprawled Hellebuyck. The Jets had a chance to go ahead with their second power play of the game a few minutes later, but Laine twice hit a post.NOTES: The Bruins were without injured D Torey Krug (upper body). … Boston outshot Winnipeg 30-19 after two periods, and 39-24 for the game.UP NEXTBruins: host Columbus n Saturday.Jets: Host Calgary on Saturday to finish a three-game homestand.

ST. PAUL Youth Darnell Nurse Jersey , Minn. (AP)his least productive NHL season since he was a teenage rookie with Carolina when Minnesota took a flier on him two summers ago to add some depth at center. The three-year contract was modest for a player with Staal’s ability and accomplishments. The expectations were, too. Three consecutive seasons of decline in points per game, after all, don’t provide a hint that the scoring touch or passing knack is primed for resurgence.Bruce Boudreau could see the rebound potential, though. His first day of training camp with the Wild happened to be Staal’s practice debut with his new club, and a strong impression was made on the new head coach.”I said, `You know what? Everybody was wrong,”’ Boudreau said. ”Because he did the skate test on the very first day, and he blew everybody out of the water. So I said to the staff, `He should be able to play for us.”’Staal has done much more for the Wild than simply prove he can keep up and stabilize a key position with some savviness and leadership. Nobody on the team has scored more since he arrived, and with 40 goals this season he’s tied for sixth in the league through Monday’s games.”I never thought a specific number was a goal. I don’t ever usually think like that,” Staal said. ”Once you start a season, it can go a lot of different ways, but once the puck starts hitting the back of the net and you’re gaining confidence that way, you want to hold on to it as long as you can and accumulate as much as you can to help your team win.”Staal became just the second player in NHL history Kailer Yamamoto Jersey , joining Gordie Howe, to record a 40-goal season at least nine years apart with none in between. Slumps can factor into that, but so does dedication.”Look, he’s won a Stanley Cup. He’s won an Olympic medal. He’s got all the money that he’s ever going to need,” Boudreau said. ”But when he came here he wanted to prove to the world that he’s still a really good player, and to me he has.”The lanky 33-year-old with the left-handed shot has been a big reason why the Wild, despite some rough patches of the schedule and significant injury absences by several of their best skaters, have clinched a spot in the playoffs for the sixth straight season.”You want that, especially as a player who’s in the second half of his career. You want to make sure you’re in a spot to try to win again, and coming here I felt gave me that chance,” said Staal, the second overall pick in the 2003 draft who won the Stanley Cup in 2006 at age 21 but only returned to the playoffs once more with the Hurricanes. ”We’ve still got some work to do here, but hopefully we can finish strong.”Staal only has one goal-less stretch on his ledger longer than four games in a row, when he played six consecutive contests without scoring from Jan. 9-22. He still contributed four assists over that span. Not coincidentally, the Wild have only one losing streak larger than two. They dropped three in a row from Nov. 4-8.”He’s a guy we’ve definitely looked to to help lead us Womens Kris Russell Jersey ,” said left wing Jason Zucker, one of the many linemates Staal has saddled up to this season – without, Boudreau said beamingly, a single complaint.Durability has been one crucial component of his value, of course. Staal has yet to miss a game since signing the $10.5 million deal on July 1, 2016. The emotional steadiness he has contributed can’t be overlooked, either.”He’s been through the best of teams. He’s been through the worst of teams. He’s been the leader on all of these teams,” Boudreau said. ”He’s had to make sure he’s the steady one, because if he gets too high, maybe the rest of the group gets too high. If he was one to get too low, maybe everybody else would follow his lead.”The Wild actually left Staal exposed in the expansion draft, banking on his age being less attractive to the Vegas Golden Knights. His salary cap hit is only the ninth-highest on the roster.”If he was playing in Toronto, he’d be up for the MVP,” Boudreau said.Settling in Minnesota was more than satisfying for Staal, with the perennial postseason opportunities and the relative proximity to his hometown of Thunder Bay Leon Draisaitl Jersey , Manitoba, about a six-hour drive away. He and his wife, Tanya, have been able to raise sons Parker, Levi and Finley, in a similar northern culture and climate that he was raised in, delighting in seeing the boys at 8, 6 and 3 years old take to the local hockey rinks or eagerly hop on their sleds after the latest snowfall.”All that stuff I grew up doing and loving, and now I’m kind of living it back through them,” Staal said. ”It’s definitely made it a ton of fun.”— Puck and player tracking is coming to the NHL next season. A sneak preview is coming up this weekend, too.Commissioner Gary Bettman announced the long-expected news Friday during All-Star Weekend in San Jose, California, calling it a “breakthrough that is years in the making.” The league is partnering with German company Jogmo World Corp. to put microchips on player jerseys and inside game pucks. Real-time data will be gathered by antennas in all 31 NHL arenas. The NHL joins the NFL as the two major North American professional sports leagues with wearable tracking technology. The NBA and Major League Baseball use sophisticated systems that can include radar and cameras.“Being on the forefront of innovation is good for our game and most especially for our fans,” Bettman said. “With the speed and complexity of hockey, it makes for an unparalleled on-ice product http://www.officialhockeypanthersshop.com/authentic-adidas-roberto-luongo-jersey , but at the same time it also presents an incredible challenge. So as a league we have made significant investment to create new technology that quite literally did not exist.”Long after the glowing puck of FoxTrax a generation ago, the NHL began its work on puck and player tracking in earnest in 2013. Tests of various systems were done at All-Star games, the 2016 World Cup of Hockey and two regular-season games earlier this month in Las Vegas. While the glowing puck isn’t coming back, this All-Star Weekend is another test. NBC Sports in the United States and Rogers Sportsnet in Canada will be showcasing tracking data with NBC featuring it as part of a digital-only broadcast of the 3-on-3 tournament Saturday night.Players have agreed to the tracking, but the NHL is not yet committing to a firm start date because officials say testing is ongoing with the potential for changes after feedback from players, teams and broadcasters. But the league is confident in the accuracy of the radio frequency-based system and its application for 1,271 regular-season games and the playoffs.“This will continue to evolve and be monitored and tested and perfected over the course of the rest of this season and parts of next season,” NHL chief revenue officer Keith Wachtel said. “But this is our opportunity to say that we are far enough along where the commissioner is comfortable with the data and our broadcasters are comfortable and the NHLPA is comfortable that we can go ahead and unleash this, which we’re obviously excited about.”The six-year effort included what NHL senior vice president of business development David Lehanski called “unforeseen” challenges, primarily with how to make the puck.“A lot of testing (was done) on the performance of the puck both with regard to its durability but also its playability,” Lehanski said. “The puck itself is really something unlike anything else … any other sport has really had to contend with.”Researchers and engineers at the Fraunhofer Institute and Jogmo believe they have reached to the point where players don’t notice the microchips on their shoulder pads and can’t tell the difference between the new “smart puck” and the frozen rubber that has been part of hockey for more than a century.“It’s an active puck, so it needs to be activated before it goes on the ice and deactivated after that,” Jogmo founder and CEO Martin Bachmayer said. “It’s kind of a different handling for the officials and for the people in the box. … That’s the kind of stuff we try to figure out in the next couple of months before the season starts: how to really make this right.”

But we’re just glad we came out on top of this.”Despite overcoming a four-goal lead in the third period, Detroit remained winless in Philadelphia for more than 20 years. The Flyers are 15-0-1 on home ice against the Red Wings since getting swept by them in the 1997 Stanley Cup Final.Konecny sent Philadelphia to its 11th win in the last 13 with a wraparound tally in the 3-on-3 extra session. Sean Couturier put a shot toward the net and Jonathan Bernier’s save went to Konecny, who skated around the back of the net and put a forehand shot inside the post as Bernier couldn’t recover in time.Asked about his message to the Flyers prior to overtime, Philadelphia interim coach Scott Gordon said, “Go get the second point we lost.”The game was the first of a home-and-home for the teams, who will meet again Sunday night in Detroit to wrap up their three-game season series.Nolan Patrick had a goal and two assists, Scott Laughton and Shayne Gostisbehere each had a goal and an assist and Jakub Voracek scored for the Flyers, who began play eight points behind Pittsburgh for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.Tyler Bertuzzi had a goal and an assist in his return to the lineup Jake DeBrusk Jersey , and Thomas Vanek and Gustav Nyquist also scored for Detroit.“It goes to show that when we want to start playing that we can play at a high pace and then score goals,” Bertuzzi said.Mantha’s stellar deflection of Mike Green’s shot from the point went over Carter Hart’s left shoulder and capped an improbable comeback for Detroit, which trailed by four when coach Jeff Blashill pulled goaltender Jimmy Howard for backup Bernier after the Flyers netted a pair of rebound tallies in the opening 1:24 of the third.“The goalie switch always wakes us up,” Mantha said. “It tells us that we’re playing terrible.”It appeared that the Flyers had turned the game into a rout when Voracek and Patrick scored on rebounds early in the third. But the Red Wings quickly responded to the goalie change by scoring twice in 44 seconds, first by Bertuzzi and then Vanek, to pull within 5-3. And Mantha’s first goal, a deflection of Danny DeKeyser’s shot from the point with 11:24 left in regulation, went through Hart’s legs to make it a one-goal contest.“We decided to play 18 minutes and we got four goals,” Mantha said. “We’ve got good talent in here. I think we played the right way, we could win games.”Hart made 33 saves to win his ninth in the last 10. We were rewarded tonight.”Ryan Strome and Jujhar Khaira had the goals for the Oilers (24-31-4), who have lost seven of eight.”At the end of the day John Tavares Jersey , you’re here for wins and losses and it’s tough to take moral victories out of the game,” Strome said. ”We know the position we’re in and that’s a disappointing result after 40 good minutes.”The Oilers scored the game’s first goal with 1:31 left in the opening period – despite being outshot 13-2 to that point – when Strome beat Khudobin on a 2-on-1 break for his ninth of the season. The Bruins came close five minutes into the second when David Pastrnak’s shot clanged off the post behind Talbot, but instead the Oilers extended their lead just more than six minutes later when a knuckler by Khaira beat Khudobin up high. The shots favored the Bruins 29-14 through 40 minutes.Boston got on the board 4:37 into the third when Acciari swung a puck in front of the Edmonton net and it bounced off Strome and in to make it 2-1.The Bruins tied it with eight minutes to play after a flurry in front led to Grzelcyk putting the puck past a diving Talbot.Boston completed the comeback with just 64 seconds to play in the third, after the Oilers lost control of the puck in their own end. (AP) — Three Anaheim goals in regulation deflected in off opposing players. When the game went to a shootout and New Jersey’s Taylor Hall had a chance to tie it, his shot ricocheted off the crossbar. That left an opening for Ryan Getzlaf, who followed Daniel Sprong’s earlier goal in the shootout with a nifty wrist shot to give the Ducks a wild 6-5 victory Sunday over the Devils.“It was a bizarre game,” Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. “It was one of those games that seemed like the last shot would win it.”The Ducks have won six of their last seven, though none quite equaled Sunday’s bizarre victory.Jakob Silfverberg Authentic Jordan Eberle Jersey , Kiefer Sherwood, Brandon Montour, Pontus Aberg and Ondrej Kase scored in regulation for the Ducks. The goals by Sherwood, Aberg and Kase all went off New Jersey players. Kase’s goal was actually knocked in by Andy Greene when he swung his stick attempting to bat it away from the net.“It was the first time in my experience where you had three that went in,” Devils coach John Hynes said. “Something gets deflected in, and hits someone and goes in. Those were a little bit odd tonight.”Kyle Palmieri had two goals for the Devils, and Damon Severson, Brent Seney and Marcus Johansson also scored. Cory Schneider stopped 33 shots. The Devils snapped a six-game losing streak in their last outing, but have now lost seven of eight. The Ducks started the shootout, but Aberg’s shot was blocked by Schneider. John Gibson then blocked Palmieri Josh Bailey Jersey , before Sprong — in his first career shootout attempt — sliced a backhand past Schneider. When Palmieri’s shot went off the crossbar, Getzlaf’s goal provided the game-winner.“Our guys did a good job of sticking with things,” Getzlaf said. “When you get a few bounces, it’s big. We didn’t get any of those the first two months of the season.”Anaheim’s Ryan Miller, looking to become the all-time leader in U.S.-born goaltender wins, left the game with 12:47 left in the third period after a pair of players crashed into him at the net. He appeared to have injured his left leg. Gibson was in goal the rest of the night. The night began with a wild opening period as both teams scored three times. Three of the goals were scored within 59 seconds.Palmieri opened the scoring, snapping in a rebound past Miller just 1:38 into the game. The Ducks answered quickly, a screened Silfverberg firing from long distance to tie it. Sherwood gave Anaheim a brief lead when he completed a breakaway, his shot deflecting off the leg of Stefan Noesen in front of the crease and into the net.New Jersey tied it at 2-2 on Palmieri’s second goal of the period, wristing in a quick shot on a feed from Taylor Hall behind the net.The Devils went back up on Severson’s power-play goal Brady Skjei Jersey , but the Ducks tied it again on Montour’s goal to end the high-scoring period.“That first period was a little helter-skelter,” Schneider said. “Both sides (played) a littler looser. You come out of it 3-3, it’s basically a 0-0 hockey game. … You have that mentality of starting over. I thought we did a good job in the second and took control of the game. The Ducks made a push in the third.”New Jersey led 4-3 in the third when Aberg fired a long, blind, backhanded shot that went off the hand of New Jersey’s Ben Lovejoy and hopped in the net.Kase’s goal gave Anaheim a 5-4 lead, but the Devils emptied their net and scored after a wild scramble in front of the net with 57.8 seconds left to send the game into overtime.NOTES: Sunday marked Carlyle’s 900th game as an NHL coach. … The Ducks have won their last five games at home against the Devils. … Getzlaf is now 27 for 76 in career shootout attempts.

LAS VEGAS (AP)http://www.officialavalanche.com/authentic-adidas-j.t.-compher-jersey , the Anaheim Ducks are certainly glad to be back at full strength.Jakob Silfverberg and Ryan Getzlaf scored to lead Anaheim over the Vegas Golden Knights 2-0 in their Pacific Division showdown Monday night.”The last half of the season we’ve had our full team, and we’ve been picking up some steam these last couple of games,” Silfverberg said. ”This road trip, at least, we’ve been playing some pretty good hockey. Tonight, we played one of the best teams in the league and I think we played them really solid defensively. We didn’t give them a lot of chances. This is the type of hockey we want to play and hopefully we continue doing it.”Article continues below ...Anaheim regained sole possession of third place in the division, two points ahead of Los Angeles and Calgary. The Ducks are a point behind second-place San Jose.”It’s tight along that playoff line and we’ve been playing well lately,” Silfverberg said. ”I think everyone knows where we’re at. I think our team performs better under pressure. We’ve seen that these last few games. Hopefully we can keep rolling on this kind of wave.”Starting goalie John Gibson (22-15-6) stopped all 13 shots he saw for Anaheim but was inadvertently clipped by Vegas’ Reilly Smith behind the net with three seconds left in the second period and didn’t return due to a lower-body injury.Backup goalie Ryan Miller played a clean third, stopping 20 shots to preserve the win.Golden Knights netminder Marc-Andre Fleury (19-7-2) made 18 saves. It marked the third time the Golden Knights have been shut out, the second at home. Dallas won 3-0 at T-Mobile Arena on Nov. 28, and Vegas was blanked 1-0 at Nashville on Jan. 16.”It was a pretty tight game both ways. There wasn’t a lot of room out there,” Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle said. ”We were defending fairly well, and they came with a big push in the third period. We knew that was coming. … We haven’t beaten this hockey club this year so it’s always nice when you can come in and beat the first-place hockey team.”Though Vegas outshot Anaheim 33-20, the Ducks did an excellent job congesting the passing lanes over the first two periods and slowing a normally up-tempo Vegas team by getting physical every time it tried to attack.Playing heavy against one of the fastest lineups in the league, the Ducks outhit Vegas 28-25.”We knew this was a very crucial win for our group,” Anaheim defenseman Josh Manson said. ”That was a better game for us. I think it’s one of the better games we played in a while. We knew they were going to get on us fast. We knew we had to support the puck for small passes. Sometimes you just have to make the simple play Youth Matt Nieto Jersey , chip it up the wall.”The Ducks improved to 15-11-7 on the road and have won four of their last five away from home. Anaheim became just the seventh opponent – and fifth in regulation – to win on Vegas’ home ice.And while the Ducks have enjoyed playing at full strength, Vegas missed forwards Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, who is on injured reserve with an upper-body injury, and James Neal, who was a late scratch. With the team minus Neal, a catalyst for the Golden Knights’ second line, Alex Tuch stepped in to play with David Perron and Erik Haula.”He’s a big part of our line, for sure. We know what we want to do out there,” Perron said of Neal. ”We do a lot of little plays, like possession plays, and it’s tough for Tuchy to come in and kind of get in that. Maybe he has a different mentality. He hasn’t really played that way this year – he’s more of a speed guy. I felt we got better throughout the game. We had some chances.”Silfverberg gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead after setting up in the slot and tipping in Andrew Cogliano’s wrist shot past defenseman Brad Hunt and Fleury. It was Silfverberg’s 13th goal of the season, Cogliano’s 17th assist and Rickard Rakell’s 25th assist.Getzlaf, who played in his 898th game, thought he had given the Ducks a two-goal lead in the second period, but a replay review revealed Rakell was offside.Seven minutes into the third, Getzlaf’s knuckler trickled through Fleury’s legs to make it 2-0.Vegas Mikko Rantanen Jersey , which leads the NHL with 82 points, dropped to 22-5-2 at home. The 22 home wins match the NHL mark for an expansion team set by Gordie Howe and the Hartford Whalers in 1979-80.NOTES: The Golden Knights, who have scored a power-play goal in 12 of the last 14 games, were 0 for 2 with the man advantage. … The Golden Knights were also without Shea Theodore (scratch) and Brendan Lepsic (healthy scratch). … Before the game, Vegas recalled forwards Stefan Matteau and Tomas Hyka from Chicago of the AHL. … Anaheim’s Ondrej Kase is two games shy of 100 for his career.UP NEXTDucks: Host the Dallas Stars on Wednesday.Golden Knights: Host the Calgary Flames on Wednesday.— DALLAS (AP) — Jim Montgomery didn’t pause very long to savor a win in his NHL coaching debut. The Dallas Stars coach isn’t even sure it counts.“First of all, players win games,” Montgomery said after Devin Shore, Alexander Radulov and John Klingberg scored less than two minutes apart in the second period of a 3-0 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night.“I don’t know why coaches have records. I really think players win championships, and I’ve always believed that. I think coaches help give them opportunities to do that.”Ben Bishop stopped all 30 shots for his first season-opening shutout and the 25th of his career. Bishop has a four-game winning streak on opening night.Shore broke a scoreless tie by putting in a rebound as he was going to his knees. Radulov beat backtracking former Dallas defenseman Alex Goligoski one-on-one in a battle for the puck as they skated up the ice and slipped it between Antii Raanta’s pads 27 seconds later.A little more than a minute after that, Klingberg skated alone up the right side in 4-on-4 and beat Raanta inside the far post.“A couple of big ‘yeahs’ by me behind the bench on every one of them,” Montgomery said. “So, it was a great flurry by us.”Defenseman Connor Carrick, acquired in a trade with Toronto three days before the opener, assisted on the first two goals.Jamie Benn also had two assists in the Stars’ eighth straight win over the Coyotes — all in regulation by a combined score of 30-13. It was Dallas’ 11th consecutive home win over Arizona, a streak dating to February 2012.The Coyotes — who opened last season with 10 straight losses, nine in regulation — hit the post twice when the game was scoreless.Clayton Keller did it in the first period Nathan MacKinnon Jersey , and Oliver Ekman-Larsson in the second less than a minute before Shore’s goal sparked the Dallas flurry.“We hit the post, and then …,” second-year coach Rick Tocchet said. “It’s the first game of the year, but it’s something you can’t let happen. We have to play quicker and initiate.”Montgomery, who played his final game with Dallas in 2002, was making his debut less than two years after winning an NCAA championship at Denver. He is one of three current NHL coaches who made the jump from college.General manager Jim Nill chose Montgomery as the club’s third coach in three seasons after one year under Ken Hitchcock, who led the Stars to their only Stanley Cup title in 1999 but missed the playoffs in his return 15 years after he was fired.“It’s nice to not have to make him wait for it,” Bishop said of Montgomery’s first win. “There’s a lot of firsts in here tonight. Monty’s obviously one of them. Hopefully we can get him a lot more.”Missing several injured forwards they figure to count on for scoring, the Coyotes outshot the Stars 30-25 but didn’t generate many good chances in the final period. Raanta stopped 22 shots.“It’s a new season. It feels way different,” Goligoski said. “Every year there’s new faces in here. I don’t think (last year’s start) is on anyone’s mind.”Bishop finished a season-opening shutout after getting injured when he was working on one in his Dallas debut last season. He had stopped all 19 shots for a 1-0 lead over Vegas when Bishop took a puck to the mask early in the third period and left the game. The Golden Knights rallied for a 2-1 win.“Can’t start thinking I’m feeling good because that’s like the worst thing you could probably think to yourself,” Bishop said. “Did a good job of clearing the front when there was a couple of ones that squeaked by.”NOTES: Stars D Stephen Jones started the season on injured reserve. Even when we were up two goals in the beginning of the season, we would tend to give up chances still, even when we tried to close games out. I don’t feel like we’re doing that now.”The Oilers have won three straight and have gone 6-1-0 in their last seven games.“I like how we stayed with it when we got an early lead. COLUMBUS Toronto Maple Leafs Hats Authentic , Ohio — For some reason, the Columbus Blue Jackets aren’t feeling at home in their own arena. The Blue Jackets’ record at Nationwide Arena dropped to 7-6-1 with a 4-0 loss on Saturday night to the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals. They’ll get another crack at trying to fix their home woes on Tuesday night when they host the Vancouver Canucks (13-16-3).Article continues below ...The home struggles are confounding to Blue Jackets players and coach John Tortorella considering their road record is a formidable 9-5-1. The same intensity doesn’t appear to be there on their own ice. “What happens during a season is things go well for you and you start to go down a weird road,” Blue Jackets captain Nick Foligno told reporters on Monday. “We’ve gone too far down that. We’ve got to get back to checking and playing hard defense. We did everything not to win the game. They did everything to win the game.”To remain in the upper echelon of the Metropolitan Division, the Blue Jackets (16-11-2) have to figure out their issues in a hurry. The matchup against the Canucks is the second game of a six-game homestand. Columbus has nine home games in December and its record is already 0-2.Tortorella wasn’t happy with the performance against the Capitals and direct in his assessment. He promised changes, including the duties of the coaching staff, to get the train back on the tracks. “It was disgusting,” Tortorella said, according to the team’s website. “After our loss home, what a debacle 9-6 (to Calgary last Thursday), to show up on Saturday night for first place seeding, at least this time of the year, against the team that knocked us out of the playoffs Custom Toronto Maple Leafs Jerseys , in front of, I guess, pretty basically a full house, it’s embarrassing.“We did not compete. I missed something along the way. I’m part of it. I’m embarrassed that we embarrassed our organization.”The Blue Jackets had not been shut out for nearly a year (a 5-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning last New Year’s Eve) and winger Cam Atkinson’s career-high points streak ended as 12 games, one short of tying the franchise record. The Canucks are feeling much better about their effort after a 6-1 road win on Sunday over the St. Louis Blues. They’ll be aiming for their third straight win against the Blue Jackets in the middle of a three-game road trip.Rookie sensation Elias Pettersson led the Canucks to their last win with a goal and four assists for his second five-point game of the year. He leads all rookies with 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) in 26 games and has one more goal than teammate Bo Horvat.“I’m just trying to create chances and points will come when you play good,” Pettersson said. “That’s all I’m thinking of.”Vancouver’s Brock Boeser had a hat trick against the Blues and gave credit to his 20-year-old teammate.“He can make passes that most guys can’t,” Boeser said. “You’ve always got to be ready.”Canucks goalie Jacob Markstrom is impressed with the Boeser-Pettersson duo.“They’ve been doing a great job,” he said. “They put up a lot of points and a lot of goals. … That’s what we need, and they’ve been rewarded. They create chances every game and that’s huge for us.” This is not Brayden Schenn’s first rodeo with a lot of things this season. It is his second time playing under Craig Berube as an interim coach and the third time his name has been prominent in trade speculation. For Schenn and the St. Louis Blues www.officialcanucks.com , those things are related.A bad start to the season cost coach Mike Yeo his job in November and started talk that just about anyone from Schenn to star winger Vladimir Tarasenko to young defenseman Colton Parayko could be dealt away. But over the past two month as interim coach, Berube has turned things around — so much so that the Blues could make a run at the playoffs and keep general manager Doug Armstrong from selling ahead of the Feb. 25 trade deadline.“Guys are playing hard right now and (Berube) obviously commands a lot when it comes to the work ethic side of the game,” Schenn said Monday in Washington. “We’ve had high expectations right from the beginning, we didn’t meet them, then there’s tons of rumors about everyone. That’s kind of how it goes when you’re not winning and you’re not meeting expectations.“Now we’re in a position — closer, anyways — to make a playoff push, and we feel like we can in this locker room. Now it’s up to us to try and save ourselves, each other, from getting traded and staying here together.”Berube has pulled the Blues together by getting them back to basics. They’ve gone 5-2-1 in their past eight games to move within four points of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference and can now think about the postseason.“This is such a good team here, and we’re starting to get back to our game,” leading scorer Ryan O’Reilly said. “We can get into the playoffs. We can make a difference.”After trading for O’Reilly and signing forwards David Perron, Tyler Bozak and Patrick Maroon last summer Vancouver Canucks T-Shirts Authentic , the Blues were expected to make the playoffs and contend for the Stanley Cup. Twelve losses in their first 19 games led to the coaching change, and Berube has instilled some badly needed consistency.“He’s one of those guys that wants you to make plays, but he demands a lot,” captain Alex Pietrangelo said. “He wants you to work. And we’re working right now. That’s what we’re doing. That’s how we’re winning hockey games.”Berube, who also was interim coach for Schenn and the Philadelphia Flyers in 2013-14, has helped the Blues win games by changing their mentality to become more of a north-south team. There was never a shortage of talent, but now the direction of the action is straight toward the net with the kind of direct style more suited to the group’s size.“We control the puck in the offensive zone a lot,” Berube said. “We shoot the puck and get to the net. That’s our game.”It helps that the Blues are getting stellar goaltending from rookie Jordan Binnington and veteran starter Jake Allen of late. Binnington is 3-1-0 with a 1.55 goals-against average and .937 save percentage in his first four NHL starts after getting called up at age 25 and being asked to steady the ship.“With a little bit of pressure comes opportunity,” Binnington said. “You try to do your best to feel confident and prepared for the moment, so you just work hard off the ice and on the ice in practice, and when the moment finally comes, hopefully you’re prepared. That’s kind of how I looked at it.”Blues skaters look at their rough start not as a case of subpar goaltending but disastrous play in front of the net. Schenn said it was “ugly” early on Vancouver Canucks Hoodies Authentic , and Pietrangelo said the team has done a better job cutting down on rush chances against, which has made life easier for the goalies.“We’re playing more of a 60-minute hockey game,” said Allen, who has a .910 save percentage this season under Berube (it was .879 under Yeo). “We were finding ways to shoot ourselves in the foot prior to that. We’d play 20 minutes of good hockey, 20 minutes of bad hockey, 20 minutes of mediocre hockey and sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. But right we’re getting goals and we’re hunkering down, but at the same time we’re still finding a way to capitalize on opportunities.”More than anything, the Blues need to pile up the points to go from last place in the Central Division at the time of Yeo’s dismissal to the playoffs after missing by one point last season. Berube gets a lot of credit within the locker room for establishing a foundation of success.“He’s just brought some stability to the group,” defenseman Robert Bortuzzo said. “He’s definitely made an emphasis on character and compete. I think that’s something we all needed as a group and something we’re going to need night in and night out.”

with the Vegas Golden Knights in late February Bobby Orr Jersey , there weren’t many fans who were happy with Ryan Reaves. He arrived from Pittsburgh and immediately made his presence known with six penalty minutes in a home-and-home series against Los Angeles, both losses. The Vegas faithful thought team chemistry was ruined.”Ruin the whole team, yeah?” Reaves joked Tuesday as Vegas prepared for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against Washington. ”I apologize to Vegas.”Vegas wasn’t the only one he apologized to. Reaves immediately went to coach Gerard Gallant after those Kings games to acknowledge that while he didn’t necessarily agree with the penalties, he also would not be taking silly penalties and disrupt what Gallant and general manager George McPhee worked hard to build.”He was up front, and he took responsibility, but I said, `Just play your game, that’s why we got you, to play your game and work hard’ and he’s been excellent ever since,” Gallant said Tuesday. ”He doesn’t take penalties, he really doesn’t.”Reaves believes it’s been his on-ice intelligence and hockey IQ that has made him an effective teammate over nine seasons in St. Louis, Pittsburgh and now Vegas, where he’s since become a crowd favorite.”My fights have gone down every year http://www.officialbruinsproonline.com/authentic-adidas-brad-marchand-jersey ,” Reaves said. ”I only had six this year and all within the first two or three months (with Pittsburgh). I think there’s always going to be physical play in this league, and as long as I can keep up and and be able to catch guys and do it in a way that’s not hurting the team, then yeah, I think I got a spot here.”Especially after scoring what may have been the biggest goals in franchise history. In Game 5 of the Western Conference Final in his hometown of Winnipeg, Reaves scored the game-winning goal that sent the Golden Knights to the Stanley Cup Final. And in Game 1 against the Capitals on Monday, he scored the game-tying goal before linemate Tomas Nosek put the game-winner past Braden Holtby in a 6-4 victory that gave Vegas a 1-0 series lead.”Playoff hockey you have to be a little smarter, you got to be a little faster, everything is kind of magnified,” Reaves said. ”I think at this time of the year the details have to be there for sure.”Since Reaves was re-inserted into the lineup midway through the second round of the playoffs, the fourth line has clicked more often than not.Shedding his overly aggressive tactics, Reaves has adapted to playing Vegas’ simple north-south game, while learning how to make the right decisions and build chemistry with Nosek and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare. The trio is proving it can be just as important as the Golden Knights’ top line of William Karlsson, Jonathan Marchessault and Reilly Smith Youth Brandon Carlo Jersey , and that has become extremely dangerous for teams to defend.”I think we just try to outwork whoever we’re playing against,” Bellemare said. ”It won’t maybe work this well every night, but we get the payoff from hard work. Sometimes we can’t explain why suddenly everything clicks. But we are at the right spot at the right time and it worked for my wingers and me. Maybe your fourth line won’t change the game every single game, but when they do it sure helps.”And while Nosek’s two goals in Game 1 against the Capitals extended his point streak to three games, he said it doesn’t matter who scores or tallies points, because it’s never been about individuals on the Golden Knights.”That’s what we’ve done the whole year, 20 guys on the ice and off the ice,” Nosek said ”We support each other. On our (line), we just try to create some chaos in front of the net, go hard to the net and get some forecheck going, that’s how we roll, and it was good last night. It doesn’t matter who scored the goals either way, we are a team and victory is the most important thing.”—More Stanley Cup coverage: https://apnews.com/tag/StanleyCupFinals SAN JOSE Womens Charlie McAvoy Jersey , Calif. (AP) Joe Thornton talked to several teams last summer when he made his first trip to the free-agent market before ultimately deciding to return to San Jose on a one-year deal. This time there was never any doubt.”Obviously there were some teams calling, but I told my agent/brother let’s keep it quiet this year, I want to go back to San Jose,” Thornton said Monday. ”Obviously talking to you guys at the end of the year that’s no secret. I feel this team is just getting better and better. … Our window is always open it seems in San Jose, and it’s a good feeling.”Thornton signed a one-year, $5 million contract on his 39th birthday, taking a $3 million pay cut from the previous year to help make sure the Sharks have the room to add other top players. Thornton had been willing to take even less had John Tavares decided to take San Jose’s offer instead of signing a $77 million, seven-year deal with Toronto on Sunday. But Thornton still believes strongly in the group that general manager Doug Wilson, coach Peter DeBoer and owner Hasso Plattner have put together and feels the pieces are in place for that elusive Stanley Cup run.”It would have been nice to get Johnny, but I think if you look at our team still, Doug and Hasso and Pete, they’ve allowed us to compete every year, and I think there’s no difference again this year Danton Heinen Jersey Kids ,” Thornton said. ”We’re going to compete for a Cup. But yeah, I was going to be flexible and will always try to help out the franchise in that way.”The Sharks also locked up restricted free agent forward Tomas Hertl with a $22.5 million, four-year deal on Monday that buys out the first two years of unrestricted free agency.Hertl took on a bigger role last season after Thornton went down with a season-ending right knee injury Jan. 23. Thornton had torn the ACL and MCL in his left knee the previous season but said he’s ahead of where he was at this point last summer and expects to be 100 percent at the start of training camp.Thornton started slowly last season while recovering from knee surgery but was back near his top form by the end of November. He had 11 goals and 15 assists in his final 28 games before the injury.”I’ve never seen anybody train like this. You look at his birth certificate and it says a number there. But he’s childlike when it comes for his passion and love for the game,” Wilson said. ”He’s had so much time now and was so close to playing that I t6hink he’ll come back way ahead of where he was last year.”Thornton has been the face of the franchise in San Jose since arriving in 2005, helping the team reach three Western Conference finals and one trip the Stanley Cup Final in 2016.He ranks 12th in NHL history with 1,030 assists and is 16th with 1,427 points. With seven more games, Thornton will become the 19th player to reach the 1,500-game mark for a career. The 24-year-old Hertl is just coming into his own after being slowed by knee injuries early in his career. He had a career-high 22 goals to go along with 44 assists this past season and was strong on both ends of the ice.Hertl was even better come playoff time with six goals and three assists in 10 games. He also won 57.7 percent of his faceoffs. The Sharks are counting on more of that kind of play in the future.”I just think his best hockey is ahead of him,” Wilson said. ”He truly wants to be a great player. Watching him in the playoffs this year, I think everybody saw him take that step that not only we expected but he expected of himself.”The Sharks still have one more restricted free agent to sign in forward Chris Tierney.—AP Hockey Writer Stephen Whyno contributed to this story—

SUNRISE Kris Letang Jersey , Fla. (AP) — are glad to have Roberto Luongo back in goal.Luongo, who returned to the lineup after missing five games with a knee injury, earned his 77th career shutout and the Panthers beat the Boston Bruins 5-0 on Tuesday night.Luongo made 33 saves and passed Ed Belfour and Tony Esposito for sole possession of ninth place on the NHL’s shutout list.“It was great for Lou to be back in there,” Panthers coach Bob Boughner said. “His rebound control was amazing. I’m happy for Lou — he moved into ninth all-time and he did it in nice fashion.”Mike Hoffman scored twice. Jonathan Huberdeau had a goal and two assists, and Mike Matheson and Evgenii Dadonov also scored. Aleksander Barkov had three assists and Keith Yandle added two.“The boys did a great job,” Luongo said. “There weren’t a lot of breakdowns, a lot of odd-man rushes, breakaways, stuff like that. It really helps my game when we play like that defensively and it also translates in offense for our club. Take more of those, hopefully.”The return of Luongo was a game-time decision, and it turned out to be the right call.“It was a huge boost for the team,” Hoffman said. “He’s a solid goaltender. He definitely was a big part of this win.”Jaroslav Halak made 39 saves as the Panthers had a season-high 44 shots on goal. The Bruins lost for the third time in four games.“Tonight Mario Lemieux Jersey , it was men against boys at times, it looked like,” Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said. “Some of our younger players had their hands full.”Huberdeau made it 3-0. His shot from the left circle was blocked by Halak, but the puck trickled through his pads at 15:14 of the second period. Huberdeau has six consecutive multipoint games, one short of the franchise record set by Pavel Bure.“Everything is working right now. It’s unbelievable,” Huberdeau said. “I want to try to keep it simple out there and it’s been working. I just want to keep doing that game after game.”Hoffman’s second goal with five seconds left in the second on a power play made it 4-0. Hoffman has 26 points in his last 24 games.“Tonight, we just didn’t execute in the second period and that cost us the game,” Halak said. “And we just have to regroup. That’s the bottom line. We need to find a way to win.”Dadonov’s power-play goal with 5:34 remaining in the third made it 5-0.Hoffman scored the first goal of the night. With traffic in front, Halak lost track of the puck, which was sitting on his left side at the goal line until Hoffman poked it in at 4:21 of the second.Matheson gave the Panthers a 2-0 lead when he brought the puck down the length of the ice and beat Halak on the stick side with a shot from the right circle at 13:13.NOTES: The Panthers returned goaltender Michael Hutchinson to Springfield of the AHL. BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The New York Rangers were locked up in another tight game before pulling away at the very end.It was quite a relief for coach David Quinn.Rookie Alexandar Georgiev stopped 31 shots and Vladislav Namestnikov scored two of New York’s three goals in the final four minutes of a 6-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night.“It was a relief for about four minutes because for 56 of them it was a one-goal game, and playoff-type hockey,” Quinn said.“Seriously, we’re on the thread trying to get into the playoff picture, and they’re there,” he added. “There was a lot at stake especially when you’re this deep into the season.”The Rangers put it away when Pavel Buchnevich and Namestnikov scored eight seconds apart to make it 5-2 with 3:53 remaining.Buchnevich tipped in Kevin Hayes’ pass from the blue line. Namestnikov scored into an open net off the ensuing faceoff after goalie Linus Ullmark misplayed the puck. It caromed off Ullmark’s stick and toward the front of the net to Namestnikov, who snapped a 23-game goal drought.“It’s a huge relief,” Namestnikov said. “I had chances. The puck just wouldn’t bounce in. So it was nice to see that one go in.”Namestnikov then added an empty-netter with 58 seconds remaining for his first two-goal game since Jan. 25, 2018, for Tampa Bay.The Sabres closed out a 3-3-1 homestand. They were trying to win consecutive games for the first time in more than two months.“It’s tough to really pinpoint right now, to be honest with you http://www.officialpenguinsproshop.com/authentic-adidas-olli-maatta-jersey ,” captain Jack Eichel said. “Obviously, it’s frustrating. We would have liked to end our homestand on a better note. But we play Jersey on Sunday. Some five minutes later, the goalie squared up in his crease to stop Tage Thompson’s shot from the slot.Georgiev won his third straight start. He was coming off a 55-save performance in a 4-1 win over Toronto on Sunday.“I don’t know if it’s what I’m learning, it’s more confirming what I already knew about him is that he’s a really good goalie,” Quinn said. “He’s a lot better today than he was in October.”NOTES: Rangers D Brady Skjei departed in the second period after sustaining a lower-body injury.
